[ubuntu 11.10] Wow with low fps
I have done some research and I haven't found any other answer but the following: > Tweak #1 > > The following from http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=5606 , a simple registry edit for Wine that dramatically increases the framerate in game for both ATi and nVidia users (reportedly, I have only verified with nVidia using Wine 0.9.22): > > Code: > regedit >

I have installed CentOS 4.2 on an AMD based machine using the ATI chipset (xpress 200) and I am having issues with it. It seems to be a very Linux unfriendly chipset. I have looked at the ATI proprietary drivers but they seem to be for video. My problem is the IDE channel on which you cannot enable DMA. There is serious clock slew also as well as nic issues. There is supposed to be an ATI

ATI 8.452 driver, Compiz: Frozen Alt+F2 Run Command Dialog
Listmates, I am experiencing some quirks with the new ATI 8.1 (8.452) driver and compiz-fusion on 10.3. Of note are: (1) Invoking the run command with Alt+F2 correctly opens the run dialog, but the cursor is frozen and will not take any input _until_ the "Options" button is clicked or activated with Alt+o. Then the cursor begins blinking normally and input is possible. If the

Video troubles after 7.5 upgrade using CR repo
Hi, Our desktop clients are running CentOS 7 with the Xfce desktop from EPEL. The CR repository is enabled. A few days ago I launched an update, which brought in close to 1 GB of packages. I had some weird problems on two clients. One is an old Dell Optiplex 330 with a legacy video card. Dragon Age on an ATI/AMD Video card
Has anyone successful played Dragon Age using an ATI/AMD graphics card? I have it running great on my Nvidia card with winetricks but not on my ATI HD 4870. All I get is a black screen with none of the models showing up ingame. Are ATI/AMD drivers still not playing nice with WINE?

Chris, I have a compaq AMD r4000 x86_64. grabbing the latest kernel and compiling it fixed my clock skew. I have not had any slow disk issues. again the kernel may help doing the command: killall -SIGUSR1 cpuspeed makes the CPU run faster. Hope that helps. Using ATI Radeon X1300 Video Card with Centos 6.5
I have a ATI Radeon X1300 video card installed in a ThinkPad Advanced Docking Station where the laptop runs Centos 6.5. Upon Googling it seems that Centos 6.4 broke compatibility with the kmod-fglrx-legacy driver and that the only way around it is to downgrade X to an older version. However, the last note seems to be from before summer and I was hoping that there might have been some

City of Heroes / wine not identifying NVIDIA video card
I've been using wine for some time now to play City of Heroes and overall I've been very satisfied. One issue that has always bothered me is that COH gives a warning about outdated video card drivers even with the most recent drivers from NVIDIA installed. This limits the settings that can be chosen in the video options. I also suspect it's not making the most efficient use of my

[WoW + ATI HD 3850 + Hardy] Text problem
Hello, I've update my Ubuntu Gutsy to Hardy (7.10 -> 8.04) and Wine 0.9.somthing to wine-1.0-rc4. I've the lastest ATI proprietary driver installed. Before, I could run WoW without any problem in OpenGL except the buggy minimap when I entered in a closed area map (a tavern, or a cavern, etc.), the minimap became blank... (config: Gutsy, Wine 0.9.6, ATI Catalyst 8.1). Now, when I
