Integrate Patch
Is It possible to integrate this patch into next dovecot's releases?
It implements the "-w ( disable webmail [IMAP from localhost*] access
)" option when using vpopmail.
** Patch created following dovecot mailing list information **

-test68, -stable and ldap
Hello Timo,
Thanks to your patches, LDAP authentication now works with -test68.
However, I'm still experiencing a segmentation fault with today's
snapshot of -stable, as shown in the following gdb backtrace. [I'm
still running FreeBSD 5.3]
Can you see where it comes from ? Is it because the ldap new code (as
in -test68) hasn't been backported into -stable yet ?
Thank you,

default_ldap_settings' value
Hello,
When I tested LDAP auth dovecot-auth caught segv, and I found that
auth_cache_parse_key() doesn't check query == NULL.
I think db-ldap.c/default_ldap_settings.pass_filter
should have non-null default value.
Please check following patch.

Released Pigeonhole v0.3.0 for Dovecot v2.1.0
Hello Dovecot users,
Now that Dovecot v2.1.0 is out there, I release Pigeonhole v0.3.0. The
most significant new features are support for the Sieve editheader
extension and the sieve-filter tool. I haven't received much feedback on
these new features, which can either mean that they are mostly bug-free
or that not many people have tried these, so these are still considered
experimental.

Warnings compiling on OpenBSD 4.4 i386
Hi,
probably just nothing to worry about, but I get the following warnings
when building 1.1.7 on OpenBSD 4.4 on i386. If I remove the
--with-bsdauth config option, they all disappear. I won't use it anyway,
but maybe there are others.

Help implementing username_format in auth PAM driver
While configuring my server with dovecot I noticed that the PAM
authentication driver does not support the username_format option as
does the password file driver. This didn't seem too hard to implement
so I through together a patch.
As you can see in the attached patch I only modify the username sent
to PAM. Despit doing this I run into the domain lost

Permission to distribute Dovecot run file
I am working on updating the Shupp toaster, http://shupp.org/toaster/
a set of files and instructions for installing qmail, vpopmail,
qmailadmin and squirrelmail. Two of my most important goals are
switching the imap program from courier to Dovecot, and closer
integration with OpenSuSE. (Which I run my mail servers on.)
To follow the style of the toaster I need a place where I can obtain the

Dovecot v2.0.beta3 quota using userdb
Hello Timo,
I'm playing around with the new Dovecot v2.0.beta3 and don't seem to be
able to get quotas working from userdb. I didn't change the SQL query
which was working for 1.2.10.

Problem with vpopmail auth
Hello,
I've install 1.021 and am having some problems getting vpopmail
authentication to work correctly (running 0.99 in production, upgrading
to 1.021). I'm using vpopmail-5.4.16. Here are the authentication
debug statements in the log, my dovecot.conf changes from default, and
the schema of my vpopmail database. Any ideas / suggestions? I've
commented out all authentication

vpopmail authentication
CVS has now support for vpopmail authentication. .c file compiles, but I'm
not sure if I did the other checks properly and if it actually works :)
If someone here is using it, could you test it? At least to see if configure
detects it and if it compiles/links.
BTW. I think maildir support is now working quite well, 0.98 isn't far away.

We use qmail + vpopmail + dovecot, limits and alias are in vpopmail mysql
database, it has worked ok.
The .qmail-default:

$EXT@$USER
When you send a message to alias works OK.

2.0 and vpopmail
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi all,
Does 2.0 require a specific version of vpopmail? I'm getting this on my build attempt :
/usr/src/redhat/BUILD/dovecot-2.0.0/src/auth/passdb-vpopmail.c:185: undefined reference to `vauth_load_module'
Yes, it's an RPM, that's how I roll. I'm not finding vauth_load_module anywhere on my system.. I'm running vpopmail

Replacing qmail + vpopmail with: sendmail + dovecot
Hi,
I wonder if it posible to replace qmail + vpopmail with sendmail + dovecot?
The idea is like this:
- use sendmail + milter API to filter spam/virus and deliver the email to
the dovevot MDA (LDA)
- dovecot should save the email to the directory as specified in the
vpopmail DB
- maintain the vpopmail BD (users + passwd)
- use dovecot pop3/imap for the clients
- use sendmail again to receive

LDA qmail - vpopmail
I am trying to setup LDA with qmail/vpopmail to use the expire plugin
and I am getting errors about auth-master
(Can't connect to auth server at /usr/local/var/run/dovecot/auth-master:
No such file or directory)
The auth default section of the dovecot.conf is set to use
vpopmail(mysql) and that works great for IMAP access.
Can anyone share a config for using the expire plugin with

dovecot and vpopmail
Hello
Does dovecot know to expand %d in default_mail_env to
the default vpopmail domain in case the user logs without
attaching the @domain in his login ?
I last tried this on an old dovecot and this didn't work...

vpopmail, maildrop, courier-authlib combo
Hello,
I was wondering if I could post in the Howto section how one can make
use of the vpopmail virtual mail system on Centos 4 and integrate it
into other parts of Centos 4 along with some helper tools. Of course if
the information is accepted but in a different section that is fine.
