Bug#391935: The answer from Citrix & Xen.org
Hi,
I simply asked to upstream for a clarification on the use of the Xen
trademark, and received two unambiguous answers.
From Citrix:
Actually, for the community, you can do whatever you like. The
FIT test only applies to commercially distributed Xen products -
and is about ensuring compatibility between vendors.
Do you need more detail than that?

Access denied when printing to Samba printers
Howdy all,
I'm setting up a print server machine to serve hosts in an Active
Directory domain. Debian GNU/Linux ("sarge", current testing branch),
Samba 3.0.0beta2-1.
Success so far:
- All steps in the current DIAGNOSIS document
<http://au1.samba.org/samba/devel/docs/html/diagnosis.html>
- Sharing printer drivers from the [print$] share (yay!)
- Connecting to the

Comments in speex files
Hi,
I'm helping with the development of abcde ("a better cd encoder") and
have a request about a new speex feature. Support for speex was
implemented a few weeks ago, but we still have little problem. We try to
separate encoding and tagging of tracks (to allow users to rip CDs
offline and when going online tag, rename and move the encoded tracks),
but te comments in speex files can

Bug#391935: Xen trademark might be problematic
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-unstable-1-amd64
Version: 3.0-unstable+hg11561-1
Severity: serious
It seems Xen has a similar trademark policy as the much discussed
Mozilla one. Specifically http://www.xensource.com/xen-tm-faq.html
says:
| 16. If I distribute a changed version of the Xen? hypervisor, may I
| say that the changed product is the Xen hypervisor?

| No. If you have changed an

Bug#391935: updated trademark policy
There's an updated trademark policy available here:
http://xen.org/about/legal.html
It also includes an email address for questions.
I won't try to interpret the 8-page document myself.
Hope this helps,

Bug#391935: did anyone tried contacting xensource?
Maybe there's a way to get an exception here. Other distributions should
also be contacted to coordinate and seek help.

redistribution of isolinux binaries
I've been making my own custom RHEL / CentOS boot CDs for years,
and all of the instructions for such work call out to take a distro's
CD, and copy key files from it.
Among those files are those that I think are associated with the
the SYSLINUX/ISOLINUX project; e.g.:
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/os/x86_64/images/

(Slight) calculation discrepancy in escalc (metafor package)
Hello,
I recently started using the metafor package (version 1.6-0) in R (2.15.1,
64-bit Windows 7) and noticed that I was getting slightly different values
when I manually calculated the standardized mean difference versus what
escalc was giving me. Here''s a very simple example:
escalc(measure="SMD", m1i=5,m2i=10,n1i=5,n2i=5,sd1i=1,sd2i=2,vtype="LS")
The result

Libraries needed on Watchtower Library 2010?
Hello All.
This has been released and _does_not_ work with wine. Former versions needed
no adjustments to a standard wine setup. The licensing prevents us offering
copies to anyone. There is a workaround, ( use last year's program on this
year's data) but I decided to debug as far as I could and see what was going
on.
Symptom shown is a page fault in ntdll at address (all zeroes). That

Nested PXELINUX configurations
Hello all,
I have a boot server (running Debian Lenny x64) with a number of
bootable options already configured (freedos, memtest, sysresccd etc).
What I am struggling to do now is add Ubuntu and Debian netinst images
so that I can boot from the network and have all the boot options
available as if I was using a CD-ROM.
The problem is that (as far as I can tell) the Ubuntu and Debian

It is with regret that I announce that Shorewall development and support is
officially ended.
Sean''s post has finally driven it home to me that in the long term, trying
to support a project like Shorewall is impossible for a person of my
personality and age.
