Request removal of CyrusImapd how to
Hi! On behalf of team Cyrus, I'm trying to review and clean up old instances of Cyrus documentation around the web. It's a long lived OSS project and has left behind many old docs in its years on the earth. This is resulting in strange queries coming to us as people try to follow information that's years out of date. To this end I'd like to request removal of

becoming root
Hi List, I've just drafted a FAQ/mini-HOWTO on becoming root as this is a topic I see come up time and time again. Perhaps someone with a reasonable understanding could check it for technical correctness, and if anyone would like to offer comments/feedback?? Any suggestions as to where might be an appropriate home for this on the Wiki? Regards, Ned (attached below)

SASL and SSL/TLS guide for postfix/dovecot
Hi List, Following on in my ever expanding series of postfix/dovecot guides, I've created a page and started a SASL and SSL/TLS guide for postfix/dovecot: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/postfix_sasl The SASL section is pretty much complete but I am yet to start the SSL/TLS section (hope to get this done over the next week or so). As usual I'd welcome comments, particularly from those

SSH contribution?
List, Whilst I'm in the mood for contributing stuff, here's another little howto I wrote on securing SSH that has proved popular in the past: http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=433216 If you feel it is suitable and you would like me to contribute it to the CentOS wiki, just set up a page in the appropriate area and I'll be happy to add it. Regards, Ned

Reporting for Duty.
Hello to the AdminGroup, >From what I have been told (by a very reliable source (AY)), I should direct this for the attention of Ralph. In the nicest possible way, Community members Akemi and Ned (aka toracat and NedSlider) have been twisting my arm to get me to agree to join the Wiki editors. Being susceptible to the right sort of persuasion, I eventually agreed. Over the last few weeks I

iptables article for Wiki
Hi List, I have been asked in this thread if I would contribute an article on iptables to the Wiki: http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=10240&forum=37 The article would be based on a tutorial I have previously written here: http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?t=432469 I'm not sure where the article should best go so leave that to your discretion. If you

IMAP security
I have port 143 open so that I can get my mail when away from home. Occasionally, though, my router reports things like Thu, 2008-03-27 02:00:11 - TCP Packet - Source:200.122.134.9,3821 Destination:88.97.17.41,143 - [IMAP rule match] Thu, 2008-03-27 05:39:49 - TCP Packet - Source:140.127.181.141,3461 Destination:88.97.17.41,143 - [IMAP rule match] Thu, 2008-03-27 16:10:03 - TCP Packet -

Short postgrey guide?
Hi Guys, Are you interested in a brief guide on how to set up postgrey (anti-spam greylisting) with postfix? I set it up today and it took me a while to get it working as the config is slightly different from that on many of the googled guides (many are debian/ubuntu based). The darn config file lives in /etc/sysconfig on RH/CentOS rather than /etc/default as mentioned in all the guides I

Translation of centos-art.sh script (Round 2)
Hi guys, I want to thank you for all the feedback provided in previous mails about the translation of centos-art.sh script. I would like to share that, based on your feedback, the centos-art.sh script was updated with the intention of removing the issues found. I would appreciate if you could realize another test for the script. Note that both the centos-art.sh script and the CentOS artwork

Notification Emails
Does the wiki actually send out emails to KaranbirSingh, RalphAngenendt, RussHerrold, TimVerhoeven, AkemiYagi, NedSlider, AlanBartlett, MarcusMoeller, TimothyLee, LaurentWandrebeck, TimoSchoeler, GaoHu, and AlainRegueraDelgado with every edit? It makes me a little nervous updating the T43 page or my homepage. I don't want to spam anyone. Cheers, Cody Jackson

Korean Translation - Anaconda Slides
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, Well, it seems like my gnome terminal can't interpret Korean translations very well. Or maybe it can and I don't know how to confirm it ? I tried the following encoding characters in the gnome terminal: Current Local (UTF-8) Korean (EUC-KR) Korean (UHC) Korean (JOHAB) and all I can see are question marks inside black rhombus. That

Artwork localization
Hello everyone, What do you think about having localized the following CentOS components: - Rolling notes in CentOS installer. These images are shown during the installation process, once the configuration is done and you are waiting for packages to be installed. Rolling notes are a great place to promote CentOS. If they are not localized, they are shown in English language by default.

[centos-artwork] Restructuring the website homepage layout
Hey folks, Could we have a talk about the website homepage layout? Here is a tentative sketch I am working on for the a new website theme: https://centos.gitlab.io/artwork/centos-web/jekyll-theme-centos-base/documentation/#the-page-basehome-layout In this layout: Are "News and Events" and "Blog Posts" redundant sections?? Does it make sense to present only extracts from
