External authentification-module for listening to icecast2-streams?
Hi, today we came across the idea of adding an external authentification- module for listening to icecast2. There have recently been talks with artists and music labels that they would like to receive "a small fee" per listener to e.g. a concert streamed live over the internet. What do you think of adding an external authentification-module so that the user could listen to a stream

Disconnect listerens after X min
Hi Jappe, a) Please put the script on a webpage, send the link to this mailinglist and maybe somebody will put a link to such a useful feature-addon. Question to Oddsock and other devs: b) Is there already a plugin-mechanism in icecast that could be used to write a small snap-in directly? We talked about such an interface a *long* time ago, but it seems it was forgotten somehow. (Plans were

Hi, I am installing a Samba 3.0.1 on RH90 for a little school, and they want to have access to a mobile usb-harddrive. updating via CRAN and http
Hello, thanks for the tips on updating packages for 1.8.0. The updating is a real problem for me, since I've to do it sort of manually using my web-browser or wget. I'm behind a firewall that requires http/ftp authentification (username and passwd) for every request it sends to a server outside our intranet. Therefore all the nice tools for automatic updating (cran, cpan ...) don't

proposal: new library, libicecommon
with our new move to Subversion, we apparently lost the ability to easily link submodules into a single higher-level module (such as icecast)...in the old CVS repository, icecast consisted of a handful of modules, icecast and other modules, which are shared by icecast and ices : avl httpp log net thread timing in the new Subversion repository, they are still kept as separate modules,

problems using challenge-auth with winbind
Hi, I'm trying to set up a squid with ntlm authentification, and as I follow the instructions I read in the squid FAQ I run into this problem. When I try to do a ``wbinfo -a <domain>\\<user>%<passwd>'' the process tells me that the authentification did not succeded (both, plaintext passwords authentification and challenge/response password authentification). This

AD LDAP
Hi,    it there  any way how to look into samba ldap in the same way I can look into OpenLdap via LDAPAdmin, ldap tools etc, when I know OpenLDAP "root" dn and password? Is there such "root" user for Samba AD LDAP?    We have a lot of scripts based on "ldapsearch" (without authentification) and "ldapmodify" (with ldap authentification). It would be very

relaying IceCast from ShoutCast
I Found some old posts with some syntax for this, but it does not appear to work. Should this work in the Windows version? relaying IceCast from ShoutCast
I've been thinking more about this. It would be really nice if Icecast could add a port to a mountpoint and emulate whatever information Shoutcast requests when it relays a shoutcast stream. This way Shoutcast could relay Icecast streams. Fred _____ From: Fred Black [mailto:fred@batanga.com] Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 2:36 PM To: 'icecast' Subject: RE: [Icecast]

Major problems with 2.0.7 and SATA drives
Hello everyone, I''m hoping to find an answer to my problem here. Currently I''m installing xen 2.0.7 on 30 dual opteron machines with 4GB memory. The machines have Tyan K8SR as motherboard with Silicon Image 3114 chip sata controler and 2 x 300 GB Western Digital SATA drives. Thinking about switching from courier-imap to Dovecot: 2 simple questions
Hi, I'm using RHEL4 and since the dovecot RPM is present in the main repository, I'm thinking about switching from courier-imap (with whom I've got trouble to update) to Dovecot. Here are two questions about Dovecot (google didn't answer me): 1. Is it possible for dovecot to use the bind mecanism against ldap for authentification purpose. My main concern is to avoid the
