Icecast2 Configuration
I think I figured everything out on my own, BUT it gives me this error each
time I attempt to play a stream (using WinAmp's oddcast plugin). I have made
sure multiple times that the passwords in the Icecast config file & oddcast
config box are both the same!

Icecast2 Configuration
If you are getting "login with invalid or missing password" it means one of
a few things :
* you have not selected Icecast2 as the server type in the DSP config
* you are not using the most current versions of both icecast2 and oddcast
(http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2 for that)
* you are using the most current oddcast, but have <icylogin>1</icylogin>
in your icecast2

Multiple OGG streams?
I'd like to set up two streams, one for broadband users & one for modem users
(and I want them to be playing the same thing at the same time). Is this
possible with Icecast 2 and Oddcast, or any other win32-compatible OGG
software combination?
Thank you!

Okay, thanx!
But where is the "main Icecast documentation" the Help file tells me to look
for?

Icecast2 Configuration
I've used SHOUTcast before, but I'm new to IceCast... and it's been a bit
since I did use SHOUTcast.
I need to know what the various configuration fields in Icecast2 Win32 do.

Icecast can (and does - in the access log file) log how many seconds a
listener has been connected for.
We don't log "when a

Icecast2 / Ogg / oddcastDSP / Winamp2 Constant Prebuffering
Hrm, yes it does sound like a bug in WinAmp. Even if it does prebuffer, the
length counter should be going beyond 0:01 since you've obviously been
listening longer than that after the first second. =P (I don't think the
counter resets after buffering, but I could be wrong.)
Can you see if you can duplicate it by getting someone else to tune in to the
'cast with WinAmp?

win32 icecast2 login problem
Hello,
I'm trying to test the performance and stability of icecast2 at the windows
xp platform using ices 0.3 at my Linux computer. However, I cannot login
because of the following error message "attempted to login with invalid or
missing password". But the password is ok! After further analysing with the
very nice program M3W, which has the possibility to login using icy, X-audio

OT: whats your opinion of ODDSOCK streamTranscoder?
OK guys. Thanks so for taking the time to talk to me even though this was
off topic.
And Oddsock, especially thanks for insisting that no one had this problem.
It got me thinking......your transcoder is at the mercy of several external
components..one of them being lame_enc.dll
So..I went and found several versions of the lame_enc.dll, and experimented.
I'm not sure how I should compile lame

OGG streaming and Icecast2
Hi All,
I recently just took the time to play with the OGG format and compare it to
mp3..and my conclusion is:
SWEEEEET
Where can I learn about writing a source for Icecast2? I written sources for
Shoutcast..that was pretty straight forward..rip through an mp3 file and
send the bytes to shoutcast at specific intervals. OGG is VBR...so I'm
having trouble wrappign my head around how I shoudl

Icecast2 / Ogg / oddcastDSP / Winamp2 Constant Prebuffering
Sounds like WinAmp isn't storing a large enough buffer, or Icecast isn't
putting a long enough buffer between what it recieves from Oddcast & what it
transmits to clients.
I've never had such a problem, though. Could be your connection?

Hi,

legalities of streaming
Hmmm, so in summary, anyone wanting to put together a station for a couple
of hundred listeners with out a massive bank account, it can not be done
legally.
