yet another test stream / Icecast2 segfault
Hi,
My stream is up and running until today evening somewhen (CET).
http://scapa.dnsalias.net/oggmusic.m3u
or directly:
http://scapa.dnsalias.net:8066/test.ogg
It's tested already, so it should work, but I don't know much about the
reliability yet. Icecast1 unreproduceable segfaulted on me sometimes and
that's what I want to know with Icecast2, too. It DID segfault today,
but only

And that would only have been to upgrade it.

Trouble getting Ices/Icecast2 to stream
Mike / Karl -
I've tried two different ways of setting up the "stream". In one URL, I
named the file directly (http://foo.bar.org:8001/stream.ogg), and in the
second, I made a stream.m3u file containing the afore mentioned http
statement. Neither worked in Winamp. I had downloaded version 3 of
WinAmp, so I uninstalled that, and went out and got the JOrbis (Java)
player and the

I've written a mini liveice streamer/encoder built around the vorbis
library, I need to know what connection protocol the new server will
work around.
(I'd get the icecast 2.0 sources, but once again the icecast source

icecast2 seg fault
Hi,
I'm trying to adapt darkice to the current state of icecast2. As I see,
there is a possibility to stream in various formats, by specifying a
Content-type field on the source header.
When I try to log in with an mp3 source, I get a seg fault from
icecast2. The connection looks something like:
SOURCE /mountpoint ICE/1.0
Content-type: audio/mpeg
ice-password: password
ice-bitrate: 96

All the hooks are there for other formats, but we haven't added any but
Vorbis.

Trouble getting Ices/Icecast2 to stream
I'm rather new to this. I just set up Icecast and Ices using source from
CVS downloaded yesterday (3-20-2003). The box is running RedHat 8.0 with
all the required RPMs to compile. Here's my trouble:
I have Ices running in live mode, with it connecting correctly to the
Icecast server on port 8000 (which is only bound to 127.0.0.1). I'm
using Winamp on the client end connecting to port

Possible Minor bug found in current 2.3.1 release of icecast2
I am new to your lists but I have found something in icecast 2.3.1 that
may need further review. there is a segfault when you have a failover
mount point and the failover mount is using ezstream and you restart
ices-2.x and the clients fail back. found via gdb. Very short diff to
format.c line 104 below.
diff -urNab icecast-2.3.1.orig/src/format.c icecast-2.3.1/src/format.c

[icecast] another Icecast2/Vorbis stream on-line
Greetings:
Another test. I've re-encoded a batch of mono 22050 Hz WAVs, average
bitrate seems to hang around 30-40 kbps. Icecast.xml is set for three
connects, and the URL is here:
http://64.108.112.145:8000/shouter.ogg
IMO, the sound quality is much better now. Again, the stream should be
up for about 45 minutes or so. Please let me know how it works for
you...
Best regards,

Imap segfault on login with version 2.0.8 & 2.0.11
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade/test our configuration files from Dovecot 1.2 to 2.0.11. ?I used the Dovecot config convert command, created a RHEL 5 x86_64 rpm, and tested it. ?I can connect, but once I login, the IMAP service segfaults. ?I've also reproduced this on version 2.0.8.
I installed the debug RPM (for the stripped symbols), took a look at the core dump in gdb, and just got

another Icecast2/Vorbis test stream
Greetings:
Yes, I've placed another test stream on-line. Thanks to the feedback
from members of this list, I've taken a few extra steps.
1) According to DSLReports, my uplink today is 137 kbps. It may
actually be a little faster, they say that Netscape's reporting is
skewed (and I use Netscape).
2) Thus, I've prepared a set of Ogg files encoded with -b 24 to fit

That sounds quite good, comparing it to a 24 kbp /16 khz mp3 mono mp3
stream the difference is striking. The XMMS plugin is still quite buggy
though, I have to disable my MP3 plugin to get it to work right.

rsync 2.6.5 segfault using --fuzzy & --link-dest
I've been reworking my backup script & decided to give some of the newer options a try. It would appear I've found a combination that doesn't play nice.
$ rsync --archive --delete-during --fuzzy --hard-links --numeric-ids
--quiet --sparse --temp-dir /backup/helium/
--link-dest /backup/hydrogen/tuesday/
--password-file /backup/helium/.password
