Hi Cecile, it seems it is a tabu theme, or nobody uses VAD on speex. I've tried with external EasyVAD solution but the result was not as spected. Other users of the list suggest an algorithm to filter voice based on the power of the signal, but of course, it is not a voice activity detection. Hi, I decide to write to the list because of a strange behaviour when updating from version 1.1.12 to 1.2rc1. My software was running fine with version 1.1.12, but now I want to benefit from advances on AEC. My data is speech sampled as pcm mono 32khz. I want to use vad for regulating the agc gain mechanism. So... if voice is not detected I just reduce the agc value in order to not amplify the 'silence' otherwise we just increase the agc value if it is below the minimum. I have been trying to understand how to get the VAD algorithm working. I sent an input stream of all zeros into the preprocessor but still got a return value of 1 indicating that speech was detected.
