Trying to re-install ZFS drivers
What should have been a routine upgrade to ZFS 0.6.4.1-1.el6.x86_64 somehow failed, and now I've lost access to a 2T raidz2 array. I've tried removing all zfs and related packages (spl*), then starting fresh. For reasons that have have nothing to do with this problem (I don't think), I'm still booted to kernel 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64, and there are no other kernels installed.

Sudden, dramatic performance drops with Glusterfs
There are options that can help a little bit with the ls/find. Still, many devs will need to know your settings, so the volume's info is very important. Try the 'noatime, nodiratime' (if ZFS supports them). Also, as this is a new cluster you can try to setup XFS and verify if the issue is the same. RedHat provide an XFS options' calculator but it requires aby kind of subscription

akmod-nvidia update, lose openGL functionality
Sorry if this has been dealt with, but I couldn't find it in a search. I updated Fedora to the new kernel build, and there are no current drivers for nvidia cards for that. That's fine, livna made a new neat thing called akmod-nvidia that appears to have built the drivers very nicely (quite pleased with that). All is happy and shiny from within Linux (compiz works and openGL games work

Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)
Hi all! Running Centos-6.latest on an AMD six-core Vishera processor. It's been running for a year on that hardware. today I swapped out the video card (from Nvidia 9800GT to Nvidia 460 GTX) hoping to get a little more horsepower, and the ability to run the Folding At Home GPUclient. I know that's an old card, it's a hand-me-down from my son who just replaced it with a new 970 GTX

dkms build error
Hi, Unfortunately, I did not succeed to compile a btrfs module via dkms from btrfs-unstable (commit 9aeead73782c4b8e2a91def36dbf95db28605c95) for kernel version 2.6.34-git16. For the exact error message, please see the make.log attached. If I replace the symlink to btrfs-unstable/fs/btrfs by a sumlink to the corresponding subdirectory of the kernel tree everything works well. Thanks, Andreas

Googling this (specifically the nvidia-bug-report line below) doesn't find anything. This is a server (console is text only, no GUI), so we may not need x11 nor nvidia, I dunno for sure. Thanks in advance for your thoughts. kind regards/ldv Transaction Check Error: file /usr/bin/nvidia-bug-report.sh from install of dkms-nvidia-x11-drv-185.18.14-1.nodist.rf conflicts with file from

Required Kernel version to compile git btrfs with DKMS? Problems with Ubuntu 10.10
Hi all, I''d like to look into btrfs code and try some things, so I followed the instructions on the wiki (link below) to setup git and get a dkms build against my kernel. I''m using Ubuntu 10.10 with a 2.6.35 Kernel, which I assume is too old. What version do I need? https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Btrfs_source_repositories I''ve followed the guide (skipped

managing data and removing lines
Hi, I am very new to R and I've been trying to work through the R book to gain a better idea of the code (which is also completely new to me). Initially I imputed my data from a text file and that seemed to work ok, but I'm trying to examine linear relationships between gdist and gair, gdist and gsub, m6dist and m6air, etc. This didn't work and I think it might have something to do

Alan, I knew of the Dell article, as I have all of those saved for reference. [1] I was just wondering if you knew of any that were for someone knew to Linux. You know the Microsoft type tutorials that have screenshot with them. That's the question I get asked a lot of times from around my home area. In turn when these users that are new to Linux they get discouraged when they can't
