Starfury again
Hmm, no one bit on my previous question about Space Empires Starfury...
all right, this time I've got a little bit of technical info which might
be helpful - here's what the terminal prints prior to the game crashing
and requiring a kill -9 to get rid of it:
fixme:font:load_VDMX Failed to retrieve vTable
fixme:ddraw:DirectDrawEnumerateExA no non-display devices supported.

Tomb Raider 4 and wine 0.9.1(DirectX 6.1)
Hi!
I've just installed wine-0.9.1 on my Fedora Core 3 system (Radeon 9600XT
- fglrx-8.19.10).
While TR3(demo) setup & gameplay runs okay, TR4 breaks and gives me this
error output after the setup screen is thru:

Windows DirectDraw?
I just tried to install an ancient detective-type RPG ( I am not up with the
classifications.)
(a) It offered to install DirectX. Since Wine has its own DirectX, I
ignored that.
(b) The game failed to run because (according to the message box) it
couldn't find DirectDraw. This showed as a Fixme in the terminal, while
the error message was to do with the display settings - there was no mode

HalfLife on latest CVS
Whilst bored I purchased HalfLife for Windows, having read people mention on
Slashdot that it runs on Wine.
I run Debian (woody) on an AMD Athlon 1.4GHz machine with 1Gb RAM as my desktop.
It currently has a Voodoo3 video card, though I have a dual head Radeon which
I'm going to use once I get a monitor that is compatible (my current monitor has
a very wavy display with that card).

Hello List!
I'm trying to run gothic2 demo (get it from
http://www.jowood.com/gamers/?lang=de&site=2&ScreenID=6309&GameID=gothic2&pfid=PC)
Installing works fine, except the fact that "BugslayerUtil.dll" got
somehow an 8+3 character long filename and can't be found by wine. When
renaming it, wine can find the dll and

Dungeon Keeper
Hello,
Has anyone ever gotten Dungeon Keeper to successfully run under wine?
I'm a newbie to wine, but I managed to get it installed and configured to
the point of where it would install the game off the cd-rom.
I'm using:
Wine release 20010629
And I've added the usual WinMM section to the config file.
Here is what wine told me when I installed the game:

Problems with CritSec and Wine 20020605 !?
Hello,
I tried to run Master of Orion II Win95 edition just for fun.
I'm using a wine only installation without any Windows binaries.
The installation went fine. But I'm not able to start the program.
When I run "wine Orion95.exe" on the command line, a black rectangle
appears in the upper left corner of the screen.
Then I get the following messages:

Problem Running a game called Gothic
So, I am having a problem running this game I installed in the virtual drive created by Wine. I am new to running anything through wine. My current OS is Ubuntu 10.04 and the version of Wine that I am using is 1.1.43. The game seems to crash before I can even open it. This is the information I have so far:

Greetings from a Space Empires nut!
Hi everybody!
I'm a fan of Space Empires who just switched to Linux, and I've been
having some trouble with Space Empires and Wine.
For one thing, when I run Space Empires IV Gold, it works almost
flawlessly - thanks, I couldn't have switched to Linux without knowing I
could still play SE4 ;-) - but there's one little problem... when I alt-
tab or minimize the game and bring it

SC2 Beta
Trying too run the SC2 Beta patch 16 which came online last night (EST). It worked perfectly before this new version (using the HOWTO @ http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19376).
I have un-installed and deleted my copy of SC2 prior to setting it up and generating this log. At the end of the log all I have of SC2 running is a black screen and a movable cursor.

update to earlier error msg help
Wowzer, so I have *everything* working now...
tcp/ip, and the game itself, with the exception of keyboard, and maybe
sound.
Actually in the log, I don't see any mention of the errors for no keyboard.
Anyone have any ideas, on how to turn on the keyboad, er make wine recognize
it?
Thanks,

Wine 20050310 / Linux 2.6.11 crashes on munmap()
I have an application ("The Rosetta Stone" 2.0.7a) which segfaults
during the startup splash screen. According to strace() it is trying
to munmap() an address (0x7a6b3000) which was never mmap()'d. I get
identical behavior with Wine 20050111 and kernels 2.6.9 / 2.6.10 (I
use gentoo-sources). I noticed some people had similar issues
upgrading from 2.6.9 to 2.6.10.
