oggdropXPd.exe crashes when resampling is activated
I need to encode a WAV to OGG but must resample to 22050 samples per second,
but can't do that with oggdropXPd.exe. The application always crashes.
What I do is:
Start oggdropXPd.exe. Right-click on fish, choosing 'Encoding Options'.
Under Advanced Options, I set Re-sample to 22050 samples per second. Click
'Accept'. Drag WAV on fish. In the directory where the WAV originates,

Could you post your .wine/user.reg ? the DllOverrides section?

Curse of Monkey Island doesn't work with wine 0.9.24
I installed the game like it is described in the WineHQ application
database. The installation worked without problems but running the game
produced the following error message:
Cannot create DirectSound object (-2147467259)
I got around this by switching off OSS sound and using ALSA instead,
but know I have the same problem that Erich Hoover mentioned in the
AppDB. The music starts to play but

Silly answers to silly questions for a silly Noob.
OK, I'm a noob to Wine. I've figured some stuff out with Wine and it sees everything I want it to see just fine.
OK, I understand why you don't want Wine to see your windows install, but I put all my program installs on a separate partition. Now with this in mind can I just have Wine look at my Program Files and run my apps from there, or do I have to reinstall all the apps I want

First, does HP-UX 10.20 support PAM? I know HP-UX 11.00 does. If
10.20 also does, you should be able to build Samba with PAM enabled,
then add the necessary magic to your /etc/pam.conf file -- without
touching the Samba core.
Keep in mind that using PAM or other Unix password facilities means you
have to run with 'encrypt passwords = no', with all that that implies.

I don't know why it is takes so mutch work to wine... Callus emulate only 66

Playback of sound files but no sound
Hello,
I'm running asterisk-1.0.6 on a centos3.4 box.
I'm still in testing phase and so far everything is running smoothly.
I'm now trying to play a soundfile or an mp3file using 'MP3Player',
'Playback'
or the 'Background' commands, but don't get any sound.
The logfile says:

No Sound and Jungle:
Hi everyone,
I am running asterisk on red hat linux 9 box. The sound card is Intel
82801db AC' 97 audio and the module is i810_audio. It runs well with other
applications like xmms and the standard tests deliver a sound . I have also
tried to record voice and that works well too.
1-)Now when i run asterisk and i dial out an extension to play any sound
there is none. The same thing

Interpolation across merged zoo columns
Hi
I have a collection of about 16 time series with occasional missing
data. A few of these time-series start later than the rest. There is a
relatively high correlation between them (they are hourly temps at
various locations around the UK). The longest series contains about
40000 points
I have constructed each time series into a zoo object and then merged
each of these objects in to one (zoo

Dear R Gang:
I have a Macintosh G4 powerbook, running OS 9.2. Last week I
ran a statistical analysis program that I wrote in R for two days
continuously. The program does repeated intensive computations on a
large data set.
The program completed its task successfully, but during the
process I noted that the computer seemed to be running unusually hot.
Shortly after the program stopped,
