Debugging an exception
Hello. I'm trying to get Dungeon Siege to run with wine 0.9.26. When the menu firt appears, there is an error as soon as the mouse is moved; if I don't move the mouse, there is no error, but I can't play the game. I did a WINEDEBUG=+relay, and I found this: 000b:Call user32.SystemParametersInfoA(00000015,ffffffff,00000000,00000000) ret=7ebc5b0b 000b:Ret

Unhandled exception error
I am trying to run the PowerPrep GRE studying software (from www.gre.com) under WINE. I can launch the main PPGRE.EXE program, but at one point it needs to launch another program, and when it tries to do so, WINE complains: wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000d), starting debugger... err:seh:EXC_DefaultHandling Unhandled exception code c0000005 flags 0 addr 0x446865ff And then the program

Help with using the WINEDEBUG variable
Hi users. I have found the WINEDEBUG variable to be very useful. However, now that my program starts, using WINEDEBUG=trace,+all or WINEDEBUG=+all creats log files well over 2.0 GB. I am trying to find messages like the following: 0009:trace:seh:EXC_RtlRaiseException code=c0000005 flags=0 addr=0x4725f1 (and the few lines above it) to try and figure out what's causing my Dreamweaver to

Unhandled exception c0000005 after fresh rpm install on FC3 x86_86
I got stuck with Wine on 64-bit Fedora Core 3. I can not remember when it happened (I was using wine few times a month), but somehow wine stopped working. I have removed all rpms and installed wine20050111-1fc3 rpm but when I start wine for the first time as a "normal" user, it fails with the following: wine: creating configuration directory '/home/robert/.wine'... wine:

Can't get Unreal to work in opengl mode
Hello all. I downloaded and compiled Wine-20021031.tar.gz (I did ./tools/wineinstall) According to the config.log, it correctly found and compiled everything about OpenGL on my system (I have a GeForce II MX card and I use the NVIDIA 2960 drivers). I played succesfully 'Jedi Knight II' in OpenGL mode with wine; but I can't play Unreal I (single-player game) in any other mode than

Team Fortress 2 (Half Life 2) trouble
Hi, I've been in #winehq all day with this and nobody seemed to have any ideas, so I figured I'd post here. I recently installed TF2, which is an official HL2 mod. No problems with installation. The problem is that when I launch the game itself, it crashes almost immediately and I get the error in the attached log (made using WINEDEBUG=+tid,+seh,+loaddll,+d3d,+d3d_shader,+d3d9). Thus

Problem running BBC Doctor Who game in Linux Mint Debian
Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite L500 Laptop running 64bit Linux Mint Debian Edition 201109. The laptop has ATI Radeon M92 (HD 4500 / 5000) graphics. This is based on Debian testing and because at present there is no WINE in the testing repositories, I have installed 1.3.30 from: http://frickelplatz.de/debian/ This seems to work fine: I can run LTspiceIV perfectly. However ... I have tried

Aliens versus Predator
Hello all. For those interested: Aliens versus Predator now works nearly perfectly with Wine (I tested it with the CVS version, dated 30th May 3004). Small glitches: the X cursor stays stuck in the middle of the screen (it can be used as a crosshair :^); when I fire my weapon, the sound of the burst continues after the firing has stopped (I get many sound buffer underruns - I use alsa 1.0).

Quasi-success
Hello all. I'd like to report near success with two games I've tested today. I used the latest wine (20040408). 1?) Arcanum ----------- I installed with wine; when I was prompted for the 2nd CD, I couldn't umount the first; so I cancelled the installation (as far as I remember the files were not erased; if they were I must have copied them somewhere before); then I copied the files

'Setup cannot find necessary files' message
Running Wine 1.0.1 in Ubuntu 9.10, trying to install FileMaker Pro 9 from CD. (Install from this CD works fine on Windows machine.) 'Setup cannot find necessary files' message appears when launching setup.exe with Wine. WINEDEBUG=+loaddll on setup.exe gives the output below; looks like all needed .dlls are there. Same problem reported on Ubuntu forums earlier in 2009 by another user:

On the way towards scanning - further hints?
I have an USB scanner which is working well and has been long supported in Linux now (Agfa Snapscan 1212U). But I can't get scanning to work in Wine, where I have installed three applications which should be able to scan (and which are running fine otherwise): ABBYY FineReader 7.0 (OCR) Irfanview 4.10 (image viewer) Photoshop CS (of course, Photoshop). Running application gives EAccessViolation in module
I'm running a private Windows executable that I know to have been created in Delphi (if that means anything). It's something my company developed. I've now started taking to running on Linux at home and thought rather than having to boot into Windows to do work that I might try to run some of these things under Wine. When I run the executable with Wine, I get: Exception
