Eaton 5PX broken interrupt on usbhid-ups, also pollfreq vs pollinterval?
Linux NUT 2.7.1
Eaton 5PX usbhid-ups
It would appear that interrupts are not actually working on my 5PX using
the usbhid-ups driver. I will be trying the serial mge-shut driver next.
It just seemed like it was working before because of the default
pollinterval of 2 seconds. The status update comes in during the
pollinterval no matter what I have pollfreq set to. And I can set

UPS BZ1500PBI-BR (Microsol - Brazil) Compatibility.
Hello,
I've been trying to set this UPS up on a Synology NAS DS218+ which uses
NUT, and even though they are using NUT, they don't have all drivers
available as NUT has them at NUT's website.
Please see that below:

A device attached to the system is not functioning
Dear all,
I was looking a lot around of Internet, but still did not find some
solution for my problem.
I have SAMBA and domain with ldap, everything have been fine until today.
Like usually I did create new user in domain and tried to get into my
domain on Windows 7 and Windows XP machines.
Then I have got this error:
"A device attached to the system is not functioning"
I checked SAMBA

Run script at startup
Hello,
I just install the newest version of Centos 7 and I am a bit disappointed
with new /etc/rc/local file
I found that it's not usable anymore.

It is highly advisable to create own systemd services or udev rules
to run scripts during boot instead of using this file.

Fwd: Centos and logs
Hello,
may be anyone familiar with some tool for viewing logs.
I mean web-interface based, simple solution.
I have developers, and I can't give them access to my Centos servers, but
they want to see logs of Apache. I want to give them address like
172.17.17.21/logs and they will be able to watch logs of Apache in browser.
I was looking a lot for something like this, but didn't find.

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Ok guys,
So we just had a storm roll through and of course we lost power for just a split second. This time I was actually home for it. Sure enough, the servers shutdown and wouldn’t boot all the way up until I restarted my Synology. I grep’d the syslog and here’s the results:

can't contact domain
Hello everyone,
Once again I'm trying to set up our Samba server to operate as a PDC, now
that I've verified that I have a clean install of the Samba 3
software. However there are some difficulties with this. On my client
machine when I try to set the domain name in the system control panel, I
get an error message saying that the domain could not be contacted. I've

newhidups and pollinterval
Gentlemen,
As reported earlier, my UPS burps a lot of unsolicited interrupt messages.
I have made some experiments with the UPS using newhidups directly, and
noticed that the poll frequency of the dstate_poll_fds() calls in main.c
can be heavily skewed by the timeout provided in the libusb_get_interrupt()
call in libhid.c (currently 5 sec!). For a UPS that provides few interrupt
messages, this

riello_usb: pollinterval ignored
Hello,
Some more data about my experiences with riello_ups on iDialog 800
In orderr to avoid "stale data" problems, i tried to increase
pollinterval in ups.conf:
==== ups.conf =====
pollinterval = 4
maxretry = 3
[idg800]
driver = riello_usb
port = auto
desc = "idg800"
===================
It seems that pollinterval is ignored by the driver:
# upsc idg800 | grep poll

UPS CYBERPOWER CP1300EPFCLCD MISSING FROMCOMPATIBILITY LIST
Hi
I have just purchased a Cyberpower CP1300EPFCLCD UPS.
It is not listed in your Compatibility List
http://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html
I am very new to all this but do have a background in IT. I have been
retired for 18 years so am a bit out of touch so please excuse if I am a bit
fuzzy.
I will try my best to explain my issue below.
When I plug my UPS into my Synology NAS

Complex sampling?
R users,
I am trying to generate a randomized weekday survey schedule that ensures even coverage of weekdays in
the sample, where the distribution of variable DOW is random with respect to WEEK. To accomplish this I need
to randomly sample without replacement two weekdays per week for each of 27 weeks (only 5 are shown). However,
I need to sample from a sequence (3:7) that needs to be

Upgrade from 3.0.7 to 3.0.8 breaks winbind
This is my first post to this list.
The domain names etc have been changed slightly in the examples below, but you
should get the idea.
For a long time now (since 3.0.2a?), I have been using the samba 3.0.x series at
one of our client sites.
The Linux server is joined to a Win2k3 Active Directory.
All users are created in the ADS, and the Linux server is able to authenticate
them, etc.

Yes, I have tried that. I have also tried less than one second. I’ve tried for 1-2 minutes, for 3-5 minutes, I’ve tried just about every length of time and all appears Ok when I manually test.

encryption is done with one of the supported encryption ciphers like
AES-CCM or AES-GCM. Encryption keys are derived from key material
established when a connection is authenticated via NTLM or Kerberos, but
generally the authentication protocol used (NTLM or Kerberos) is

Intermittent ACCESS DENIED
In a follow-up to a previous post a couple weeks back, we've implemented a
Samba 3.0.20 (Suse packages on 10.0 - recompiled to include idmap_rid)
server to replace the Windows 2000 file server in our Win2003 Active
Directory. For the most part things have been going well, but occassionally
people will get access denied errors to things that they were accessing just
fine minutes before. With
