Hard-Locks and graphics card driver issues
Hello, This is my first post on this list. I am experiencing very often hard-locks while using different wine versions (from wine 0.9.58 until 1.0-rc3). My OS is Fedora 9 x86_64 and I also compiled 1.0-rc3 how the wine wiki told me to do. I am also experiencing hard-locks just by using winetricks. The hard-locks appear not immediately but sporadically. But that's a kernel issue I guess,

near-realtime file system replication
Whats available for doing near-realtime master->slave file replication between two CentOS systems? Cronjobs running rsync won't cut it. Ideally, I'd like something that works like SLONY-I does for Postgres databases, where all file system block level transactions on the master get replicated to the 2nd system on a 'as fast as practical' basis (a second or two of lag

[Centos 5] minimum RAM required to install : 1GB ?
Hi, From the release notes i can read : "Note that the minimum RAM required to install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.92 has been raised to 1GB; the recommended RAM is 2GB. If a machine has less than 1GB RAM, the installation process may hang." Is it a joke/mistake ? :-O 1GB !!! I tested installation process with 256M / Celeron 600, seems to work ...) -- Martin

Xen performance (very slow) problem with 4GB of RAM.
I just took the x64 CentOS 5.1/Xen system I've been working on and upgraded from 2GB to 4GB of memory. Fresh minimal install of the OS (to remove some 3.2 stuff I had done trying to make PCI passthrough work). No special options, just a flat out default install. Dom0 is incredibly slow, I haven't tried DomU's yet to see if they are affected. X in particular is impressively slow

Can someone explain this statement?
I was reading through the doc''s last night and made a bunch of notes. One of the things that I wanted to learn more about was this statement: As Puppet matures, it expected that the file element will be used less and less to manage content, and instead native elements will be used to do so. Can someone please explain what this means, what the plan is, and what type of concept you are

Scary memory requirements for 5.1 graphic install
It is listed as a known issue, but I have a lot of 256Mb systems where I have used the graphic installer.... OUCH! And when this is fixed (I really hope), it will mean some new ISOs to download?

What is the REAL version of Xen in 5.1?
I have a 5.1 system with Xen installed. The package says 3.0.3, but an 'xm info' shows 3.1. So what is it? Is it 3.0.3 patched to 3.1 or is it 3.1 packaged as 3.0.3? And if it's the former, does anybody have any idea why upstream wouldn't just deploy 3.1 (now 3.1.2) which is more stable? -Ross ______________________________________________________________________ This e-mail,
