Firefox ''Rails Mailing List'' search engine plugin
Hi all, If you''re like me you probably spend a lot of time search the Rails mailing list. To make life a little bit easier I''ve created a nice little plugin for firefox ( A whopping 15 lines of markup ). The plugin uses nabble.com to search the mailing list. Anyways, I thought I''d share. If you want to install it the manual way, here''s the code. <search

Old posts and the ability to search...
Gents, Just a passing thought... is there any reason why the ability to search the past posts on here isn't switched on? Just wondered, since it makes much more sense to be able to search the old archives if you have a problem, rather than ask the same question again and again... Paul

SNOM 360 extension lights
I recently got a SNOM 360 and have been trying to get the extension lights to work. I can see the subscriptions with sip show subscriptions but I don't see any notifies when a call is made. I must be missing something because I've tried looking to see if anyone else has had this problem but the only solutions I've seen have been to put hints in and I have those. Any suggestions?

Privacy rights of an old user of this list
Dear subscribers of r-help, I would like to know your opinion about a privacy problem that I recently had after publishing to this list. Not a long time ago, I requested to the administrators of this list that they removed 2 or 3 old posts from mine. These posts were associating my name with an old company for which I worked a few years ago when you would look up my real name at google. I'm

Replying to Posts Within Same Thread
Hi, When I reply to a post, it generally appears as a separate thread, rather than branching off the original post. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Noting I am currently receiving a couple of the lists in digest form. kind regards -- Charlotte Maia http://sites.google.com/site/maiagx/home

On reading posts on this list
Dear all, I am fairly new to R and this list (this is my first post), so I am wondering whether there is a possibility to view posts on this list conveniently on a website besides reading my email. I have in mind something like this : http://www.ruby-forum.com/forum/4 for the Ruby programming language, where you get messages organized in threads, sorted by latest posts, and you can click on

sendmail not sending after reboot
HI folks, I've an up-to-date CentOS 5.x box on a small intranet (<20 users). We did a reboot over the weekend and all appears well except that clients on the LAN can no longer send email. Just hangs/times out. No clear identifiers in the /var/log/maillog or /var/log/messages. We're not setup for ESMTP as it's a closed network and I'm really hoping for a kickstart as to

Domain controller in a chroot
Hi list, Since it is considered ?harmful? to run a domain controller that acts a fileserver I was considering the option of putting the AD DC into a chroot. Is there any special configuration to perform (except bind interfaces) to avoid conflicts ? (is there any broadcasting issues or so?) Regards -- S?bastien Le Ray

List Closed to Non-member Posts
For several years, this list has been moderated for non-member posts. I''ve found that this is a pain for me (I have to wade through the spam to find and approve legitimate posts). Additionally, non-members seem to almost universally ignore instructions to mention that they are non-members in their post. Since the mailing list is set up so that replies go to the list rather than to the

When I see most posts coming through here the subject line starts with [Rails]. Maybe that is the way the list formats or maybe it''s my gmail. I noticed mine today did not have the [Rails] part. Just wondering why . Stuart
