pip provider
I am running puppet 2.7.9 and using the pip provider. The package gets/is installed but puppet installs it on every run. Do other people run into this. I tried search bugs and the group and have not seen any mention of it. Chris -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Puppet Users" group. Is libvirt supported on Citrix Xenserver?
Hi, I was finally able to connect to the xenapi hypervisor. However, once I connect to virsh and give a 'quit' command I get "* glibc detected *** virsh: double free or corruption (fasttop):". Please find below the actual memory dump. Note: I have disabled the SSL certificate verification in xenapi_driver.c by setting

how to change existing domain xml?
Hi. I'm trying to change network settings for a domain via libvirt (the driver is xenapi) with no success. According to its sources, 'virsh edit' uses virDomainGetXMLDesc(), allows to edit the received xml and then use virDomainDefineXML(). In case of xenapi driver it leads to a new vm creation (with the same name and edited settings). Looking through the list of API functions I

[ITR] templates://xen-api/{xcp-networkd.templates}
Dear Debian maintainer, The Debian internationalisation team and the Debian English localisation team will soon begin the review of the debconf templates used in xen-api. This review takes place for all packages that use debconf to interact with users and its aims are: - to improve the use of English in all debconf templates; - to make the wording of debconf templates more consistent; - to

Moving XenAPI python modules in a separate binary
Hi Mike and Jon, If I do this: dpkg -S /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/XenAPI.py then I can see that the XenAPI python package is in fact xcp-xapi. This is quite annoying, because I will need it when building OpenStack nova, but xcp-xapi depends on the Xen hypervisor, which I don't care about when building Openstack. Said in another way: I'd like to avoid having to put

XCP XenAPI fencing script (clustering support)
Hi, I think this would be the best forum, let me know if not. I am in the middle of writing fencing scripts for Citrix XenServer virtual machines (specifically for use with Redhat Clustering, but will also work from pacemaker etc) and I noticed that XCP uses the same XenAPI (from what I can tell). Just wondering if someone would be able to test the scripts on XCP and let me know if they work.

agent corrupts /etc/shadow in CentOS 6
I''m working on an issue we noticed in openstack where setting the root password on a CentOS 6 image through the XenAPI would corrupt the guest image''s /etc/shadow file. 1. set the root password through XenAPI 2. log in to the account 3. `passwd` -- you should get an error. To fix you can `rm /etc/shadow; pwconv` I''ve tested against an Ubuntu XCP image and everything

XCP GUI help needed
Hi, I am a newb to XCP and somewhat to Linux. I set up XCP on a test machine and used xe to configure a couple of VMs. The VMs are working fine but if I deploy XCP with only xe to manage machines, the others here will want my head on a plate. I set up a Fedora client on a different machine and installed Virtual Machine Manager. When trying to connect via SSH, I get an error that says

GUI suggestions for XCP (archipel?)
I''ve just installed XCP and am looking about for a good GUI to control it. I''m not a windows person at all so would prefer a non-windows solution (ESXi really bugs me in that regard) Web based would be great, then it wouldn''t matter what system controlled it. (I usually use a Mac but also run Linux desktops) Has archipel been tried? Opinions on ease of install/use?

XCP and OpenXenCenter
I just noticed OpenXenCenter (aka OpenXenManager) that is an open source replacement for Citrix's XenCenter. This tool works with XenServer. But as per the blog entry: http://blog.xen.org/index.php/2010/02/09/xen-cloud-platform-installation/ it is also supposed to work with Xen Cloud Platform. XCP is licensed GPL2 and is a combination of multiple packages. Has the team looked at the

Xen and Enomaly
Hi list, Right now I''ve to find some graphic (or web!) interface to administrate our new data center infrastructure who will be running over Xen. I''ve been googling around to find something, and looks like Enomaly is a good choice. Can anybody give me some feedback about this? Or maybe recommend another front-end interface? Thanks in advance. Boris.

remove dependency on PyXML from xen?
Fedora is keen to stop using PyXML and I have been sent a bug report https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=842843 which includes a patch to remove the use of XMLPrettyPrint in tools/python/xen/xm/create.py . I am going to try this in the Fedora build, but I was wondering if it makes sense to do this in the official xen releases as well. Michael Young

[LLVMdev] Proposal: stack/context switching within a thread
I took the liberty of forwarding this to the Stackless Python list, since they switch stacks, and I got a response at http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.stackless/4464/focus=4467. The upshot is that they really need the ability to allocate only a tiny amount of space for each thread and grow that as the thread actually uses more stack. The way they accomplish that now is by copying the

Comments regarding xen-api_1.3-14_amd64.changes
Hi, it seems python files in python-xenapi package aren't byte-compiled properly. You may want to refine dh_python2 call to fix that. Cheers, Luca
