Frottle + Bridge + IMQ
Hi,
I''m trying to configure IMQ to work on the same machine with frottle
(http://frottle.sourceforge.net). The problem is both feed themselves
packets through netfilter queueing mechanism, but currently there can
only be one netfilter queue per protocol family.
To explain why I need IMQ in the first place I have to explain what
frottle does. It is a deamon that tweaks the behaviour of a

[PATCH] IMQ vs. local traffic
Hello,
Some time ago I''ve read somewhere that local traffic in IMQ
could hung up the whole system but it was corrected long time
ago. So I was very surprised yesterday when it occurred not true.
While testing IMQ I''ve observed for some time that - if you tag
some local traffic with iptables both in pre- and postrouting -
kernel is hunging up. It is happening quite quick with

IMQ driver & kernel options
Hi,
i tried to insmod the imq.o module from http://pupa.da.ru/imq after a
successful compile, but it thows this error:
> insmod imq.o
imq.o: unresolved symbol nf_unregister_hook
imq.o: unresolved symbol nf_register_hook
I think I have some kernel options disabled, does anyone know which
one(s)?
Thanks

ip_queue module issue
Hi All,
I am adding ip_queue module for snort inline IDS.
I am using snort2.4.0
And iptables-1.3.4.
Userspace Queuing(queue target) is enabled. It is built-in and not built as
a module.
The output of /proc/net/ip_queue is shown below:
cat /proc/net/ip_queue>
Peer PID : 0
Copy mode : 0
Copy range : 0
Queue length : 0
Queue max. length : 1024

Htb, imq and sfq traffic shaping
Hello,
I wrote a simple traffic shaping script (below) that should have allowed me to shape my internet traffic a bit (ppp0 - adsl 128kbit/64kbit; local interface eth0).
The script works only partially - the speed is being limited but too much. Without running this script my download rate is about 10kBytes (with second computer also downloading at about 6kBytes). After running it my download speed

IMQ + natin PREROUTING - it is almost 2 years since patch....
Hello there!
I was reading this archive:
http://mailman.ds9a.nl/pipermail/lartc/2002q3/004725.html
It was almost two years ago when Patrick wrote a patch to switch IMQ
with nat in PREROUTING chain...
From www.linuximq.org I''ve downloaded newset IMQ driver for 2.4.26 and
what can i see? The line that Patrick changed in that patch is still as
it was in previous relases.

Q about "overlimit", and IMQ/NAT trick
hi,
I''ve successfully implemented shaping and policing with HTB for my
SDSL line.
Some tips&tricks I discovered which were not covered in the FAQs and
docs I read:
- To discover the appropriate rate for your line, flood it with
traffic and reduce the rate until the matching class starts to show
a consistent backlog -- only then you''ve managed to take the queue

New IMQ device implementation supporting device EOS
Hello All
Its first time i posting to this mail list :). I have done something
(maybe) important. I write new IMQ device driver based from Martin
Devera and Patrick McHardy implementation with device EOS support. My
current implementation supporting only egress trafic shaping and kernel
2.4.25. For more details, source and examples have look at my page

IMQ and fwmark
Hi all,
I want to divide the incoming traffic between what should go to
the firewall and what should be forwarded to the local network
behind it. I started with the IMQ example config, but added an
extra htb class right below "10:1" to get the two sfq''s to borrow
each other''s bandwidth.
However, I can''t figure out how to set the two marks. According to
