Is GoVarion a fraud ???
Hi, Some days ago I spent about US$700,00 in a Tormenta III board in www.govarion.com. I used credit card. I didn't receive any answer for my emails and there is no telephone number to contact them.. Now, I'd like to cancel this order, because I couldn?t wait so long, and my credit card was billed. Is www.govarion.com a fraud ???? Does anybody know something about them ?? Thanks.

How to deal with PayPal frauds?
I charge my customers through PayPal, but recently faced a fraud which previously had only heard about. Somebody registered a few accounts, paid online with paypal (as my service is only prepaid) and started making expensive long distance calls. In fact the IP registering the accounts was from Florida, and IPs making calls were from Africa. After about 20 minutes the first payment was reversed.

[OT] The bad idea that is storing Credit Cards in your database
Hello Railists and Rubyists, I know that the topic of handling credit card numbers has been expounded before on this list (I''ve searched the archives) but I want to ask the question in a slightly different way, and get your feedback: Previous discussions on the list center around what to do with the card number *after* you have processed the credit card with a payment gateway

Skype purchased by Ebay 2.6 Billion
Good news for service providers in my opinion, Ebay will likely start alienating Skype users like they did with Paypal users. fraud detection
hello everyone. i am concerned about security to the PBX and i would like to discuss different fraud detection methods. Apart from making everything to secure the PBX (latest patches, iptables, firewalls, no outside users, strongs passwds,...) i would like to find out if there are any fraud detection techniques. As for my setup i do have a PBX running asterisk 11.4 and it has 3 sip trunks (over

ext3 / ext4 on USB flash drive?
I think this is really an attempt at user feedback, rather than user discussion. But there's no such thing as a user-feedback mail list. Nevertheless, others may find this pertinent: why doesn't mke2fs handle USB's competently? And if it does, why doesn't it reassure me so? And how can I handle a linux-formatted USB flash drive in the absence of my system giving me any guidance?

New York Times - R - article a fraud?
I worked on some ad data before and I found NYT article very biaised and not far from a fraud... Anyone knows if they got money from a - company - to play 'R'? Check out the title: R U Ready for R? Seems to me this title was stolen from XLSolutions www.xlsolutions-corp.com and they never mentioned XLSolutions in the article! They mentioned commercial R....never mentioned

LiveVoip is Bankrupt
So it looks like Livevoip went Bankrupt ------------------------------------------- There is a Federal Court Order in place and has been since Friday early a.m. ALL Suppliers are now under a Court Order that prevents them from terminating any and all services to LiveVoip LLC. If they take such any action they will be in direct violation of a U.S. Federal Court Order. If you have any questions

Error bars.
There was an inquiry on this list recently about plotting some simple error bars on a graph. Now Splus has a function (error.bar --- originally written by Sue Clancy of DMS, CSIRO, I believe) to do this job virtually at the touch of a key. (Well a few keys. :-) ) The error.bar function is written completely in raw S --- no calls to ``.Internal'' or anything like that. So it would be

exact inference tests
R-community-- Is there a contributed package (or does anyone have code otherwise) for exact inference tests and resampling statistics ala' StatExact? I've perused the package descriptions on CRAN and didn't see anything, but since several contain many functions, I thought perhaps I'd ask. --Mike C. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Michael

fraud advice
Hi, Embarrassed as I am to write this, I am hoping for some advice. One of our very first PBX installs, now six years old, was "taken advantage of" over the past few weeks. A victim of sipvicious, I assume, that managed to guess one of the SIP passwords. 4000 calls to various middle eastern destinations have been placed, which ended up being sent over our customer's PSTN

zero replacement
AARRGGHH! Sometimes it's the simple things that are particularly frustrating, especially late at night.... Can anyone suggest a simple means for replacing all of the zero values in a matrix with NANs? I ended up writing an awk script to massage the input file, which works, of course, but is rather an inelegant blunt instrument. I'd prefer an R operation. I'm certain that

Kate problem
Hello, I have just installed R 1.5.1 on a new SuSE 8.0 install using the binaries on the home page. I am trying to configure the KDE editor Kate to use from R. R seems able to launch it fine, but it crashes when I try to save the file I am editing. Is there a fix? Thanks, John. -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read
