Problems with Wine on Debian
Hello all, I am fairly new to Linux, so I hope that the following problem is not just me being ... new to Linux. I have been trying to install Wine on Debian (Etch 4.09 I think it is called). I first tried to use the apt-get install Wine command followed by the winecfg (creating the .wine folder), but when I tried to run the notepad.exe (i.e. with the command wine

Trying to upgrade from R 2.7.1
[Running debian stable] I followed the instructions at http://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian, adding deb http://cran.R-project.org/bin/linux/debian lenny-cran/ to /etc/apt/sources.list. But apt-get still leaves me with R 2.7.1. How can I diagnose what's wrong or correct this? euclid: /etc/apt # apt-get update Hit http://debian.yorku.ca stable Release.gpg Ign http://debian.yorku.ca

apt-get update: GPG error from cran.R-project.org
I recently was forced to do a dist-upgrade and rebuild my kernel, so a lot has changed on my system, and I don't know if that is related to the errors & warnings I get from apt-get update. Any ideas? thanks -Michael euclid:~# apt-get update Get: 1 http://debian.yorku.ca stable Release.gpg [378B] Get: 2 http://debian.yorku.ca stable/updates Release.gpg [189B] Get: 3

Best way to handle include files?
Hi folks, I am building a new box. Want it to look pretty much like an older Asterisk 1.2, Debian box that is in production. The new box will used as a test box before we implement changes to the production box. %M resolve to IP (only)
Hi, I would like to have [backup] service hosted on samba machine, resolving each client to different directory (/srv/backup/prod001, or /srv/bacjup/prod001.domain.com). Is this possible? By reading man to smb.conf I see there is %M variable. I have defined following service ## backup share [backup] path = /srv/backups/machines/%M read only = No public = no writable = yes

SELinux blocking cgi script from "writing to socket (httpd_t)"

I have no idea what that means, except that I thought that cgi scripts were

qemu-system-x86_64 does not support fw_cfg option
Hi I am trying to run CoreOS (Container Linux) as a guest OS using KVM/QEMU. One of their suggestions is to pass config info into the VM using the "fw_cfg" option . When I try this I get the error "-fw_cfg invalid option". If I run the vm with the help option it does not list the fw_cfg option. However, according to the qemu documentation, see here
