combining matrices
Heja,
I hope someone is still there to help me:
How can I somehow merge/combine matrices to get such a result:
Matrix A
A B
x1 1 0
x2 1 1
Matrix B
C D
x3 1 0
x4 0 1
Resulting Matrix?
A B C D
x1 1 0 0 0
x2 1 1 0 0
x3 0 0 1 0
x4 0 0 0 1
Does anyone see this probably obvious solution with R how to do this?
Sorry if this question is silly...it's too hot here to think properly ;O)

dll problem with C++ function
Dear fellow R-users,
I have the problem of being unable to repeatedly use a C++-function
within R unless by dyn.unloading/dyn.loading it after each .C call.
The C++-code (too large to attach) compiles without problem using R CMD
SHLIB. It loads (using dyn.load("myfun.so")) and executes (via .C(myfun,
...) ) properly. The function returns no object, only reads files from

increase symbol size in expression - axis label of a plot
Heja,
It took me a while to find a way of implementing normal text as
subscripted text in a expression followed by another expression and more
subscripted text :O)
It looks now as this:
ylab=expression(Delta^"+"~""[paste("my subscripted
text")]~">"~Delta^"+"~""[paste("my subscripted text")])

Dear R-Helpers,
this is my first post ever to a mailing list, so please feel free to point out any missunderstandings on my side regarding the conventions of this mailing list.

Dovecot unified event filtering
Hello,
I have an issue with debug logging when using a custom plugin for Dovecot. In my plugin, I create a child event of the session's user event:
```c
struct event *plugin_event = event_create(list->ns->user->event);
event_set_name(plugin_event, "oidc_shared_mailboxes_plugin");
event_set_min_log_level(plugin_event, LOG_TYPE_WARNING);
density estimation for d>2 for the DPpackage
Dear List,
I am trying to estimate a 3 dimensional density through the DPpackage.
For example
# model
sigma <- matrix(c(0.1,0.05,0.05,0.05,0.1,0.05,0.05,0.05,0.1), ncol=3)
rnormm<- rmvnorm(n=100, mean=c(5,100,150), sigma=sigma)
sigma2 <- matrix(c(10,0.05,0.05,0.05,10,0.05,0.05,0.05,10), ncol=3)
rnormm2<- rmvnorm(n=100, mean=c(20,1,110), sigma=sigma)
rnormm<-rbind(rnormm,rnormm2)
distribution overlap - how to quantify?
Dear R-Users,
my objective is to measure the overlap/divergence of two probability
density functions, p1(x) and p2(x). One could apply the chi-square test
or determine the potential mixture components and then compare the
respective means and sigmas. But I was rather looking for a simple
measure of similarity.
Therefore, I used the concept of 'intrinsic discrepancy' which is
defined as:
[PATCH v3 00/34] Configurable policy for handling deprecated interfaces
This series extends QMP introspection to cover deprecation.
Additionally, new option -compat lets you configure what to do when
deprecated interfaces get used. This is intended for testing users of
the management interfaces. It is experimental.
-compat deprecated-input=<in-policy> configures what to do when
deprecated input is received. Available policies:
I'm Pina and I'm a student in geology. I'm working with spectral profile of
sand and I have to find the similarity between one spectral profile selected
by hyperspectral image anche one that I created to mix different percentage
of 4 mineral component. I have to find the best mix of percentage of this 4
mineral in order to have the best likeness with the spectral profile chose
ecological meaning of randomForest vegetation classification?
Hi, everyone,
I haven't found anything similar in the forum, so here's my problem (I'm no
expert in R nor statistics):
I have a data set of 59.000 cases with 9 variables each (fractional
coverage of 9 different plant types, such as deciduous broad-leaved
temperate trees or evergreen tropical trees etc.), which was generated by a
vegetation model.
In order to evaluate the quality of
On M$s radar.
I noticed that on the front page that there is a little well
deserved lite hearted jocularity about being on the Evil
Empires radar screen with the revelation that they are
blocking wine users from using the update service.
Is it just me or does this concern anyone else that the next
step could be for the Evil Empire to let loose the land
sharks, with patents in hand, now that we know that they
CS:S no crosshair, money, health, ammo, radar
Hello Community :)
I've a problem with Steam/Counter Strike Source and Wine, I've installed Steam (with no errors) with wine version: wine 1.1.44-1 and downloaded Counter Strike Source. If I tried to start it, it failed so I read something about ingame community should be disabled, I did and I added the -dxlevel 70 option to my "startline", it works!
I also can join games and
RE: Radar track data
If you explain what radar track data is (for those like me who don't know)
and what your needs are more specifically a number of people would probably
offer pointers to R packages etc.
Creating vegetation distance groups from one column
Hi R listers,
I am trying to group distances of nests to the vegetation into classes that
are define by (0-5m, 6-10m, 11-15m, 16-20m, 21-25m, 26-30m, 31-35m, 36-40m,
41-45m, 46-50m, 51-55m, 56-60m). Each row is a nest and all the distances to
the vegetation is in a column.
In plyr, I have tried - below script but I think I am going about this the
wrong way and am not successful.
