Problem using C random generator called from R
Hello
I'm trying to use C random generator function drand48() which return
floating-point values, uniformly distributed over [0,1],
(http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/007908799/xsh/drand48.html). When
values are returned to R, they are not in [0,1]. A simple C program using
drand48() gives values in [0,1] so I suppose there is a problem (type
definition ?) between C and R. Here are R

Traces wanted for NVAA/NVAF
Dear All,
After recently taking a little dive into the NVAC clock tree, I was
wondering what that net would look like on cards I expect to be similar.
In this case I'm looking for MMIOtraces of NVAA and NVAF, which is
marketed as the 8x00 mGPU, 9x00 mGPU, 320M, ION and/or some nForce IGP.
If there is anyone who could provide me with an MMIO trace for any of
these cards that would be

nouveau graphical corruption in 3.13.2
Hi guys,
With a GeForce 320M GPU running linux 3.13.2 and Xorg 1.15.0, I'm
seeing significant graphical corruption and later unrecoverable GPU
lockup, accompanied by thousands of ILLEGAL_MTHD or related kernel
messages [1]. I see similar issues on 3.12 also.
Is there any debugging or testing I can do to help diagnose this?
Many thanks,
Daniel

garbled dialog fonts, band-in-a-box, mac
I am a newish Mac user. I have band-in-a-box 2008, which ran fine under
wine in Linux.
It seems to run fine under wine in os x, except that the fonts are wrong in
several places, most notably in dialog windows. The font actually used is
some kind of symbolic font, so it looks like hieroglyphics. It might be one
of biab's fonts as some of the symbols are musical, but there are enough

Garbled/blurred fonts.
I installed office 2007 using this howto over on the ubuntu forum
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1102840
Everything went great. The programs run and seem to work fine, except that the old issue of wine not rendering fonts right occurs.
This issue is documented here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1009930
The solution is to add
"ClientSideWithRender"="N"

New install, console ends up garbled once dom0 is finished booting
Hi all!
I can't for the life of me get xen to run - under both stable and
testing the packages give a garbled local console right after dom0 is
finished booting, just when one would expect a login prompt.
The garbled screen looks a bit like screens full of kernel booting
messages scrolling/paging by at breakneck speed. Lines are tearing and
overlapping ... difficult to describe. Anyway, it

Garbled fonts
When I try to run a certain DirectX app, all of the fonts become garbled. A screenshot is at http://jackmcbarn.no-ip.org/login.png
I've already tried setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver\ClientSideWithRender to N, which didn't appear to have any effect at all. Increasing the DPI increased the font size, but they were still garbled.

Images Garbled
I've gotten the Wine 1.3.8 built on a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard 1.6.5 and Apple's X11 XQuartz 2.3.6 (xorg-server 1.4.2-apple56)
I managed to get most of the prerequisites built, and my final configure warning only contains the following:
Code:
configure: libv4l 32-bit development files not found.
configure: libgphoto2 32-bit development files not found, digital cameras won't

Text all garbled up (Wine on OS-X)
I have this problem that renders all selectable or typed text completely unreadable.
I've had it with multiple programs, but the biggest problem is that it renders Dev-C++ completely unusable.
The text kind of looks like they're music notes or something...
