vorbis.acm of a new version was placed
Hello.
Mr. Miller Dan and Everybody of vorbis-dev.
I am the author of Japanese version vorbis.acm.
The answer becomes very late and I am sorry about that.
vorbis.acm of a latest version was placed, in the following place.
And this release includes a source code.
This release does not include the document of English.
However, that it is included from now on is being evaluated.

patches to beta 4 spec files
Hi,
Attached are patches for the beta 4 distribution, fixing minor
problems in RPM spec files.
One question: are there any reasons not to include vorbiscomment
in the vorbis-tools binary package? I've added the long-awaited
utility program into the revised spec file, but I wonder if it
is a wrong change...
Regards,

decoding to wav problems
I am successfully able to decode an ogg file to WAV on my NetBSD
i386-based machine. (I build a NetBSD package for 1.0beta4.)
Bit I have been told that decoding to WAV format on a big-endian Apple
Power Macintosh hardware running NetBSD seems to cause bad WAV files. Note
that output to "oss" (using /dev/audio) works fine. This occured with
different ogg files. (I think that ogg123 from

vorbis-cvs.spec
Hi,
For Vorbis enthusiasts who often build and install the nightly
CVS snapshot on a RPM-based system, here is a spec file that
makes installation easy. The whole CVS tree is packageed into
a single rpm file. A typical usage is as follows:
# cd /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES
# wget http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/download/vorbis_nightly_cvs.tgz
# cd ../SPECS
# vi vorbis-cvs.spec (change the Version:

acm codec
does there exist anywhere a useful source version of an ACM for vorbis
audio? I've seen the binary one somewhere in Japan, and there's an
abandoned project at SourceForge, but I'm having a helluva time building
it.
I know all the caveats about CBR vs. VBR, ACM/AVI problems etc. but I need
it anyway.
Thanks in advance -

Change fallback mount file automatically?
Icecast allows using a fallback mount file which the listener will hear
if the main mount stops. It is specified in icecast.xml as this example:
<fallback-mount>/example2.ogg</fallback-mount>
It is necessary that the file have the same bitrate and same format
(single or two-channels) as the main mount.
We were at a music festival last weekend and used butt (Broadcast Using

Hello all,
I've been having some problems with the .ogg encoder when run within
Windows. Someone at vorbis.com told me to post my problem to the mailing
list (which I assume this is, unless I've subscribed to the wrong one) and
see if you folks have any pointers.
Without further ado:
System is a Win98SE machine with a 400Mhz processor and 160Mb of memory.
I've downloaded all the

Some minor refactoring of Oggdrop build environment
I performed a minor amount of refactoring of the build environment for oggdrop.
These include:
Action: Added a workspace to manage project files and dependencies
Purpose: To build all dependent libraries before attempting to build oggdrop --
i.e. provide one-step build process.
Instead of opening "oggdrop.dsp", open "oggdrop.dsw"
Action: Added

I don't know enough to tell if this is pilot error on the user's part or a legit problem. Advice requested (also Cc: the original user if you can).

AIC score
Hello,
I ran AIC for some competing models I created. I get df and an AIC score
from the AIC procedure. Can I use the models with the lowest AIC scores from
this procedure to choose my 'best' models? If not, what else do I need to do
(and know) and how can I do it in R to chose the 'best' models?
Thank you kindly,
Michael

Followup to Rok Papez's tests
I first downloaded Vorbis about a month ago, around the time Rok Papez posted

Samba ACL bug?
Hello,
My name is Hiro.
I'm using samba 3.0.21b-2(acl) and RHEL4.1(kernel 2.6.9-11.ELsmp) + AD Server
Following problem:
When the attribute of the group of the folder was set to a full control twice,
the member of the group became inaccessible.
I want to know this problem is BUG or SPEC.
One example
