WinAmp Plugin with HTTP Streaming Support
I finally figured out why I was having so many problems with MSVC 5. Compiler optimizations were doing BAD things. :-( Anyway, here's the goodies: http://www.javasource.org/in_vorbis.dll If you just want the plugin. http://www.javasource.org/in_vorbis.zip For the source. If somebody can get a working version from MSVC 6 please send it back to me and I'll make it available. That

Alternate winamp plugin.
Hello everyone, I just thought that you should know that I was talking to someone the other day and it seems that someone fairly close to Nullsoft has created his own winamp plugin. I'm just suggesting this as an alternate plugin for those that wish to try it. I had nothing to do with writing it so please don't e-mail me about it. It's slightly more finished than the current winamp

winamp 5 release
I just downloaded & installed the final release and it works fine for me. There is still the old problem with Winamp crashing when a vorbis stream is interrupted or the internet connection is dodgy. This is an issue with in_vorbis.dll v1.35 and Nullsoft don't appear to want to fix it. I'm having to recommend my clients to use MP3 for streaming to supermarkets, malls etc because of

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I believe that Oddsock is using a Content Type of aacp. Using a .aac extension with this Content Type may present a conflict. This might actually be by design. I will do some further testing with Winamp and report here tomorrow. I will also double-check with the developer of Winamp for complete clarification. FYI, Orban Opticodec-PC allows the use of either Content Type of aac or aacp. aac is

Winamp v5.22 / oddcast / aac+
I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. This may be some attempt by Winamp developers to force people to use Shoutcast, or to prevent oddcast from using their enc_aacplus.dll. Right, just took some time to set up the Shoutcast DSP to

WinAmp RC1/RC2 problem
Hi, I've got a number of sound effects for a mod of a game in Ogg Vorbis format, encoded with OggDrop (RC2). WinAmp with Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder RC1 and RC2 freeze when I try to play those files. Maybe it's because the files are so small? Both OGG and WAV versions can be found at http://xccu.sourceforge.net/temp/winamp_crash.zip Olaf van der Spek Almere, Holland Olaf@XCC.TMFWeb.NL

New Winamp release
Hi, <p>today, Winamp unaskedly notified me of a new release, v2.78. I checked the what's-new-page on winamp.com (it does only mention a few fixes and cddb2 support, not that I needed that) and downloaded the full install, hoping that Ogg Vorbis support is finally included. D'oh, since I installed it into the 2.77 install directory will all the plugins already installed, I can't

Strange problem with Winamp 2.77 & Win2k
Hi all, here I have Windows 2000( Brazilian edition ) with SP2 installed and Winamp 2.77, with Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder 1.15b. Playing works perfect, with very low CPU usage. But if I pause or stop playing, CPU utilization goes to 100% and never gets out from there, only if I close Winamp or start playing again. I've seen this through Task Manager but looks like it's not his fault,

Winamp 3 plugin and flac 1.0.3
When I copy the winamp 3 plugin into the appropriate winamp folder, and start winamp, Winamp complains that it cannot find MSVCRTD.DLL Was the plugin mistakenly compiled as Debug and shipped that way? Any way for me to get the winamp3 plugin that isn't debug? I do not have MSVC++ to recompile it. -Justin

range support / stream seeking not supported by Winamp 5 and WMP 10?
Hi, I was just checking out icecast-2.2.0. You guys have done a great job yet again! I was interested in the range support / stream seeking on static files, since that would be a really useful feature for my clients. Range support / stream seeking seems to work with RealPlayer v10, but not with Winamp 5 or Windows Media Player 10. Does anyone else have this experience? Is there a way to make it

[Flac-users] winamp plugins troubles
Give a hint please how to compile winamp plugins. After ./configure && make I see no .dll and no .wac files in the source tree at all :( What am I doing wrong? All the lib modules are compiled just as xmms plugin but the winamp ones.. Documentation says nothing about that. -- Best regards, RuslanO mailto:ruslano@imp.lg.ua

Winamp plugin skips?
In my cpu, with winamp2.7 and in_vorbis.dll(v0.1), the track skips at the end of the song...It's like it plays the last 1/10th of a sec twice... And it only happens when playing to to the system's sound card, that is, when i play it with winamp's disk_output plugin, the track is decoded correctly... Has it happened to anyone yet? Coz i haven't seen anyone talking about it... ---

solved: building icecast2 on OpenBSD
Icecast2 compiles on OpenBSD 3.2 with the steps outlined by Moritz (thanks for that). I'm running into problems streaming ogg files from the fileserve directory, although serving mp3 files from the same directory happens without a hitch...again, both work fine on a Debian system. I'll try building the ogg and vorbis libraries from source to see if that fixes anything (they are
