Wine esound/esd sound output
Hi, I was trying the wine esound output plugin but the sound is really choppy. On IRC it was noted that only the OSS output worked properly and that esound implementation was quite crappy. However I really need esound output since we use an LTSP setup. The sound if only available through esd. Are there any possibilities to further tweak the esound settings? The software in question is windows

esd bug in ogg123
I've run into two problems with ogg123 that appears only when using the esound driver. Case 1: pops in output Audible pops, especially at low volume. Original mp3 file does not exhibit these pops, nor does oss output from ogg123, nor does esd output from mpg123. Things ruled out: disk speed - the HD is ATA/33 with DMA on. It's a single user

Patch: ogg123 -> esd
Dear developers, I patched ogg123 so that it can use esd (only local socket currently). In order to compile you need to copy esd.h from the esound-devel to the vorbis-tools directory. Usage: ogg123 -e -d something file.ogg the "something" is not important I don't intend to maintain this patch, but perhaps somebody could make it more nicer and incorporate it in the

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi! ( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I am not sure what his email address is ) I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input

ESD driver?
All, Has there been any discussion of an ESD sound driver for Wine. The Alsa driver is great, but if I am playing MP3 files via ESD, wine crashes alot when I have the ALSA driver for wine loaded. The version of ESD that I am using has support for ALSA in it. So I have all my apps talk to ESD and that way I get mixed sound. Little behind at times, especially in xine, but at least I get all my

block diagonal matrix function
Hello List I have just written a little function that takes two matrices as arguments and returns a large matrix that is composed of the two input matrices in upper-left position and lower-right position with a padding value everywhere else. (function definition and toy example below). I need nonsquare matrices and rowname() and colname() inherited appropriately. Two questions: (1) Is there a

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi! What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows Media Player 9 or 10 ) ? The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and tobias). I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by me), but can't find it any more. Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ? Regards, David
