dfree command
Hi I'm using SuSE-Linux 7.3, Kernel 2.4.18 with samba 2.2.3a and XFS with quotas The problem is the quotas won't be displayed in Samba. So I've tried to write my own dfree command and add it in smb.conf. dfree.sh: #!/bin/sh used_space=`/usr/bin/quota -u $1 | tail -1 | awk '{print $2}'` quota_space=`/usr/bin/quota -u $1 | tail -1 | awk '{print $4}'`

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi! ( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I am not sure what his email address is ) I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input

Ogg support in Windows Media Player 9 and WMP Media Library
Greetings all, I've got some questions and news (I think) regarding the Ogg DirectShow filter, and Ogg support in Windows Media Player and the WMP Media Library. The OggDS that's in CVS -- is there any reason it's only at the 0.9.9.3 level and not the 0.9.9.5 level that's on Tobias's webpage? After downloading the 0.995 version and digging through the Windows Media

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi! On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters" pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead ! But there is another vorbis DS project at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed. How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis

IceCast Questions.... ("id3 tags, mp3, Ogg, etc)
>vorbis is supported in WMP by external plugins - they're not built in, and not >auto-downloaded. >There is a real plugin, it will soon (but not yet, afaik) be available from >the auto-download servers. >iTunes doesn't support it. Where is this WiMP plugin that supports Icecast2 Vorbis streams? I would be very much interested in that. And where also is the Real plugin?

ogg and mp3
For your "non-technical" listeners, both WinAmp 2 and 3 support OGG. And it's free, as I'm sure you know. Challenge them to listen to the difference too. Once they hear how much better OGG sounds at the lower bitrates, I'm sure they won't mind switching over. And you might as well try to force their hands away from Micro$oft's Windows Media Player, if

Header structure for "video" stream ?
I am writing a tool that gives information on movie files (http://avicodec.duby.info/) and I want to add ogg support. I have found full of information on ogg file format, vorbis file format, but nothing on the "video" bitstreams that I can found in some ogg files (with XVID movies mixed with vorbis audio for example). I can see that the "video" structe looks like this, but

OGGDS\OggSDK missing from svn
Hello, I am trying to get hold of the sources for the ogg vorbis DirectShow filter. I have checked out trunk\oggds, but the solution refers to projects under OggSDK, viz: "OggSDK\ogg\win32\ogg_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbis_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbisenc_dynamic.vcproj" ....which do not appear to be in subversion. Why FLAC, why not MAC?
Why do some of you use FLAC for lossless encoding? I've done some test and MAC filesizes were always smaller. I don't seem to see what the problem is. Audio popping in OggDS
Hi all, I'm experiencing problems with the OggDS filters. The main one is that when I play back an audiovideo OGG file (2 x stereo audio track, one played at a time) the sound is popping and crackling continuously. I thought it was buffer starvation but it was not. Even if I save to wav the decompressed vorbis track it contains the popping. It is very audible. Is it a known problem? It's

It's quiet. TOO quiet.
Whatever became of Ogg Theora? There seems to be still almost no news from Xiph or its developers regarding Ogg Theora. None at all since Mid-December, when the release of Alpha 2 was pushed back to a month ago... No news on plans for the second Alpha? No news of development "roadmaps"? No news on current developments or challenges that are stalling development? No CVS updates

Ogg Vorbis Codec Installation
Heya guys, I'm currently using some DirectX features to try and play .ogg files and apparently all I'm going to need for .ogg to be supported by DX is a Codec. Would there be an installer available for the Ogg Codec or should I just copy some .dll's into appropriate places and that'd do it (if this is the case, which .dll's need to go where?)? Thanks, Ian --- >8 ---- List

Ogg Vorbis Playback with Windows Media Player
Where do I go and what do I download to enable Ogg Vorbis Playback with Windows Media Player? I found something on sourceforge.net but at the top it says Current (Test and development files; these can damage your whole DirectShow system and probably requires a complete Windows reinstallation) o I don't want to do that, I want to make sure I pick the right thing first ;)
