Mime types
Hello, Does anyone know how to configure the mime type for ogg on Apache (on a FreeBSD box)? I added application/x-ogg to the mime.types file in Apache, but Nutscrape6.2 and Mozilla 0.9.5 just show the file in txt format, IE5x on the other hand kindly asks me what to do with the file (open it or download it). I also added the mime-type in Nutscrape62 and Mozilla and added Winamp as helper app

And thats only a player. What about an (Open Source) encoder? Nah, I'll stick with OGG for the time being. Encoding or Playback problem?
Hi all, Have trouble encoding / playing back OGG using WinAmp + plugin. I encoded the files from .WAV with Ogg drop RC2. Seems to be ok. When I try and play them back though I get very very weird sound effects (some kind of "wobbling", some bass frequencies that are usually in the background seem to get more emphasised and they seem to have some kind of strange echo / reverb to it

RE: Audio broadcasting... (fwd)
Hi vorbis dudes, I've been trying to encourage vorbis use for a somewhat well known person who is doing a weekly internet "radio" program. I guess they are finding out that WMA isnt too cross platform :-) Was wondering if someone could help out with these questions... The encoding platform is windows... Is vorbis suitable for 33.6k/56k streaming yet? Would be a good opportunity

Suggestion!
Hey guys, Keep up the goodwork! I have a suggestion...why not make Ogg Vorbis streamable through QTSS or Darwin Streaming server. The people at Apple are willing to incorporate it I'm sure. Would be nice to be able to stream Ogg Vorbis from with QTSS or Darwin Server!! Lemme know what you think! Regards, Mark -- Mark de Bokx - Application Engineer Cistron Internet Services P.O. Box 297,

Multiple language output - Correct in RGui, wrong in .txt after sink()
I have the following problem with outputting multilingual data to a file. I get (except for Korean) what I expect as result in the RGui, but when I use sink() to output to a text file loose the characters in the foreign languages. I post a small example below. Since I am not sure how well my email system as the list copes with all the different characters I have additionally created a pdf

Korean Translation - Anaconda Slides
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, Well, it seems like my gnome terminal can't interpret Korean translations very well. Or maybe it can and I don't know how to confirm it ? I tried the following encoding characters in the gnome terminal: Current Local (UTF-8) Korean (EUC-KR) Korean (UHC) Korean (JOHAB) and all I can see are question marks inside black rhombus. That

language setting of the R Window in Windows XP Korean ed.
I installed R in Windows XP Korean ed. The problem is that R window shows Korean menus, but they are broken. Even worse than that, Tinn-R cannot recognize the R window. Question: How can I change the Korean menus to English menus? Thank you. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Locale problem with Korean
I installed wine-20010305 debian package on a Linux 2.4.2 running XFree86 4.0.2 . I tried to run a simple windows game freecell.exe and it worked well. But I can't see the korean menu in the game. I've seen only some characters in the part of the menu such as (G), (H), .. , (N), F2, (S), F3, ..., etc , and the part (maybe "Game", "Help" in English) disappeared.

R 2.7.[01] on Windows in Korean
We've seen a few reports on problems in R 2.7.[01] on Windows in Korean. It does work on my laptop, but I've managed to reproduce this on a WinXP desktop: it seems the problem lies in the encoding of the translations of the menus, and might be a problem in the updated iconv used. Workarounds: 1) Add LANGUAGE=en to the shortcut used to start RGui: then all messages will be in English.
