And thats only a player. What about an (Open Source) encoder? Nah, I'll
stick with OGG for the time being.

Mime types
Hello,
Does anyone know how to configure the mime type for ogg on Apache (on a
FreeBSD box)? I added application/x-ogg to the mime.types file in Apache,
but Nutscrape6.2 and Mozilla 0.9.5 just show the file in txt format, IE5x on
the other hand kindly asks me what to do with the file (open it or download
it). I also added the mime-type in Nutscrape62 and Mozilla and added Winamp

Encoding or Playback problem?
Hi all,
Have trouble encoding / playing back OGG using WinAmp + plugin. I encoded
the files from .WAV with Ogg drop RC2. Seems to be ok. When I try and play
them back though I get very very weird sound effects (some kind of
"wobbling", some bass frequencies that are usually in the background seem to
get more emphasised and they seem to have some kind of strange echo / reverb

Vietnamese language support
Hi there,
I am trying to start learn Vietnamese language, have found some ( http://www.lingvosoft.com/Vietnamese-items/?refid=1425&fixed ) transtators/phrasebooks that look good for me.
Now I am trying to start it under WINE (1.1.9, Fedora 8, kernel & glibc from 10). 2 softwares (Voice Translator English - Vietnamese and Voice Phrasebook Vietnamese - Polish) installs fine.

lowpass option (Was: RE: channel coupling in rc2)
I would very much like a lowpass option because for FM radio broadcasting I
don't want to encode frequencies above 15khz. I'm waiting for this option
before switching to ogg from mp3(lame).

"Infinite" wav files
Okay, before I submit my patch to make libao produce sorta-streamable wav
files, I want to know what these partial wav files do to various
players. I've posted two sample wav files on my webserver:
http://volsung.dhcp.asu.edu/~stan/infinite.wav
http://volsung.dhcp.asu.edu/~stan/zero.wav
The first uses a riff and data length of 0xFFFFFFFF (approximately
infinite) and second uses a riff and

Suggestion!
Hey guys,
Keep up the goodwork! I have a suggestion...why not make Ogg Vorbis
streamable through QTSS or Darwin Streaming server. The people at
Apple are willing to incorporate it I'm sure. Would be nice to be able
to stream Ogg Vorbis from with QTSS or Darwin Server!! Lemme know what
you think!

Introduction to R. Any such documentation in Vietnamese?
Dear fellow users
Are there any Vietnamese language resources for beginners of R? If so, I would be interested in hearing from people who have had experience with them and which are better (if there is more than one). I am involved with an aid project in Vietnam, and would like to move the scientists involved from using Excel for 'analysis' to R.
Thanks ....

libao-0.8.5 patch
Hi!
There are some little inconvenience in libao-0.8.5.
- The biggest is may that:
the documentation and the header file declare the ao_file_extension function,
which give a hint for the file extension where the device is realy a sound
file. This function is missing.
-An other: the alsa 0.5 and the alsa 0.9+ drivers short name. It will be better
if the alsa 0.5's name will be alsa05 and the

win32 driver for libao
Hi there.
Sorry I may be a little off topics with this mail but I have already
written to the official libao maintainer (volsung@xiph.org) and he is
the one who suggest me to write here. As I did not see any more suitable
mailing list @xiph.org here I am.
My point is that I have recently written a win32 driver for the libao
and I would be glad to see this contribution include to the official
