DI stream on xmms?
Greetings,
Is there a way to play the Digitally-imported OGG stream using xmms?
I've tried it using ogg123, and it seams to work OK!
But, I haven't managed to get it running on xmms.
I've downloaded the latest plugin (xmms tells me version 1.2.4) and
installed the 'RC1' rpms; but this doesn't work yet.
(The player fill-ups it buffers; but doesn't start playing; and

simputer
Greetings,
Today, there was something on the news of the 'simputer'; a very 'simple
computer' that currently is being developed in India.
(palmtop computer priced some 1000 Rs -which should be roughly some 160
euro-.
It's based in linux and one of the ways it tries to be as cheap as
possible is by avoiding all kind of licensed technology.
Now, when

plan/date for new features
Greetings,
With all the press concerning the 'almost 1.0' release of vorbis; I see a
lot of messages floating around as 'now 1.0, and -soon- it will include
joint-stereo, Wavelets, low-bitrate, peeling, etc. etc.'
Before I start 'advocating' vorbis and tell everybody what it all can do;
is there actually a date or some other planning when all those

mixing and 'downgrading' of vorbis-files
Greetings,
I was wondering some things:
For a internet radio-station (e.g. using mp3 and hopefully using ogg
soon), appart from the basic 'streaming' functionallity, there are two
things that are also important
- mixing music
- 'downgrading' a signal to a lower datarate.
Concerning 'mixing' music, it would be interesting to be able to mix two
ogg-files without the need to

some questions: client for ultralinux and streaming
Greetings,
I am rather new to OGG or streaming, so I like to ask some questions:
First, clients:
I have a sun ultra-sparc 5 running linux.
What clients can I use?
The xmms (that came with the redhat 6.2 installation) does not have the
vorbis-pluging, and -I guess- the xmms-plugin that's on the vorbis-website
is for intel-linux?
Where could I get the source for the plugin and (if

Hi,
I have downloaded the following files
libao-0.6.0.tar.gz

libvorbis-1.0beta4.tar.gz
vorbis-tools-1.0beta4.tar.gz
as said from the download section. But I'm at a loss to what do after
that. I don't have much experience/knowledge in compiling etc, but I
still want to try out ogg. (I downloaded the source coz I have an OpenBSD
machine, and there was no

Followup to compiling Ogg on NetBSD-1.5/i386
Hi Jeremy,
I went through the list archives, and have been trying to follow and
implement things as I understand:
1. libao needs <sys/soundcard.h> and <machine/soundcard.h>, and so I
linked /usr/include/soundcard.h there.
2. Since `soundcard.h' doesn't have SNDCTL_DSP_GETODELAY, I uncommented
that particular line in `src/plugins/oss/ao_oss.c'. These steps made sure

TDM400 and Phone does not 'ring'

does 'ring-ri... ri.... ring... ri...)

Compilation problem and solution on Solaris 2.7
To whoever it may help,
My flavor of Solaris 2.7 was not able to compile rsync 2.5.5 with the
vanilla "./configure; make".
Three functions where missing : inet_ntop, inet_pton, inet_addr
There are replacement inet_ntop and inet_pton in the distribution tree, so
it's easy to change the Makefile and have them compiled and included by a
simple "make". However, the inet_addr

Upnp ( linux-igd) on bering
Hi,
I''m trying let the windows clients behind my leaf ( bering rc4) talk through msn messenger.
I found linux-igd.sourceforge.net that seems to be the missing piece...
I used the ideas from www.wix.net.nz/LEAF/glibc.html to build a leaf cd using the redhat 7.3 glibc
( It''s alot easier to test applications because I can simply copy the binary ( and the .so) on the bering

Cutted audio or 2/3s blanks on EuroISDN - Asterisk 1.4
Morning all,
we face a strange problem on a dual Xeon server with 2 GB RAM and 2
B410P cards. On ISDN calls, audio is sometimes poor (micro
cutted/scratched) even cutted during few seconds (2 or 3). Problem
appears only on some calls and isn't reproducable.
Kernel is a Debian/Etch 2.6.17-4 amd64. We are using misdn1.1.2 with:
