Vorbis support in Winamp
I would like you guys to test the latest version of my plug-in: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.zip This one is considered the final version and there are no known bugs in it, but you might be able to find some. quick notes: * HTTP seeking is as slow as hell, don't use it. * UTF8 stuff should (finally) work correctly now. -Peter PS. Better genre editor user IS being worked on.

Winamp plugin compile problems and fix/docs
The winamp plugin would not compile. I am using the Cygnus environment (gcc, and a lot of other GNU utils) on Windows NT. _beginthread() is not found. That doesn't look like a function application code should ever call directly. I converted it to use CreateThread and it compiles and works. Change this: thread_handle = (HANDLE)_beginthread(DecodeThread,0, (void *)(&killDecod eThread)

Announce: VCE v0.1.2
Hello All, VCE does unicode/utf-8. I recommend all users to upgrade as it now handles extended characters correctly. There are now two binary versions of VCE. There is an NT version (for Windows NT/2000) and a 95 version (for Windows 95/98/ME). They will eventually be merged into one executable again. Download the appropriate file for your platform. icecast 2 testing
hello, could someone test the my icecast 2 server? there should be a stream at http://real.radiostudio.org:8000/vorbis, but I'm not able to listen to it. I don't know if the problem in winamp or in icecast or in my streaming application. You could also send a stream to it, it's the default icecast password. I would be very happy if someone could test it :)))))) mörk --- >8 ----

Lossless video codec
I know this probably transcends the scope of the current aims of Ogg video, but one thing I'd consider extremely useful is a lossless video compressor. There are a few of them out there (e.g. PICVideo's lossless wavelet codec) but I've found no free ones so far. The primary use would be for storage of video clips that would be too cumbersome to store as raw frames but still require

International Standard Recording Code
Hi! First, here's some background information: Some friends and I are making music with our computers for some years now. We release our tracks on the Internet for free for private use, both in the original module format and currently MP3. Within the next weeks or months (depending on the leisure time i get), our web site www.kolabore.de will be vorbisised for reasons I won't have to

vorbis winamp plugin
Hi I've developed a player that utilizes winamp input plugins for decoding audio to PCM. I'm going to include an open source mp3 input plugin, in_mpg123.dll, and I'm wanting an open source in_vorbis.dll as well. One question. Since vorbis is open source, would it break any rules to distribute the in_vorbis.dll included with Winamp? I presume so but thought I would ask.

WinAmp Streaming
I'm currently working on adding streaming capabilities to the WinAmp plugin and was wondering if I'm duplicating anyone else's work. Right now it's about half done. I'll be submitting the changes when it's finished (if I can figure out how to work CVS :-). Aaron Porter --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

Winamp plugin skips?
In my cpu, with winamp2.7 and in_vorbis.dll(v0.1), the track skips at the end of the song...It's like it plays the last 1/10th of a sec twice... And it only happens when playing to to the system's sound card, that is, when i play it with winamp's disk_output plugin, the track is decoded correctly... Has it happened to anyone yet? Coz i haven't seen anyone talking about it... ---

Winamp 2.80 Vorbis problem confirmed on my comp
I first downloaded Winamp Lite, which did not have Vorbis plugin, and installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin: http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe That did not work, for some reason. Afterwards, I downloaded the Standard version and tried playing ogg files: it didn't work either. I installed the latest PP Vorbis plugin over this version, but still the same. What's up?? I

chained files and winamp / vcedit
When I create a chained file with a mono and then a stereo substream, winamp crashes when it gets to the second stream. in_vorbis v1.16c. And when vcedit writes comments from a chained file, it only saves the first substream and throws subsequent streams away. Perhaps this is woth mentioning somewhere... Alternate winamp plugin.
Hello everyone, I just thought that you should know that I was talking to someone the other day and it seems that someone fairly close to Nullsoft has created his own winamp plugin. I'm just suggesting this as an alternate plugin for those that wish to try it. I had nothing to do with writing it so please don't e-mail me about it. It's slightly more finished than the current winamp
