Hi @all, I can`t set a new password for a machine accout! create a new account works (smbpasswd -a -m test), but when I would change the password with <smbpasswd -m test> or <smbpasswd test> the following errors occured: Failed to set password for user test$. Failed to modify password entry for user test$ The strange thing is that samba 3.04 has no problem to change the password.

Hi, I seting up a samba4 server for testing. With the Remote Server Administration Tools I could manage to create users and policys. When I try to change a password for my testusers, I get an emergency about the password policy. But in the domain group policy it isn't set? hi :) when using ext3, i can't get my hard disks to go to standby mode any more. i am using timeouts set by hdparm with 2.4.18 kernels. even when i issue a standby command manually, the disk spins up again after a few seconds. however, (to my knowledge) no user space program accessed this disk at that time. i suspect ext3's journal to be causing the disk accesses. is that possible?
