bessel_?.c constants
Hi All,
I've been digging around in src/nmath and have discovered that there are
two sets of "machine constants" in bessel_l.c and bessel_j.c which have
different values:
bessel_i.c: static double ensig = 1e16;
bessel_i.c: static double rtnsig = 1e-4;
bessel_i.c: static double enmten = 8.9e-308;
bessel_i.c: static double enten = 1e308;
bessel_j.c: static double

problems compiling R-0.63.3 on alpha
Hi again !
Thanks for the info on updating the config.site file which I
have done. I have also added -lm in the Makeconf manually
because this is needed explicitly for DEC cc.
However, there are still a few problems when linking some
of the files as you can see from the enclosed log.
Ciao,
Andreas

Hi !
I have problems compiling R successfully on a DEC-UINX 4.0E.
I have applied the recommended config.site, which I enclose.
As can be seen from the compilation log there are linking errors...

No rule to make target all.R, needed by compiler.rdb building R 3.4.1 from source, Scientific Linux release 6.9 (Carbon)
Hello,
I am trying to build R from source on Scientific Linux release 6.9
(Carbon), Linux version 2.6.32-696.3.2.el6.x86_64 (Red Hat 4.4.7-18).
I load the needed modules and run:
*./configure --prefix $install_dir --with-blas --with-lapack
--enable-R-shlib 2>&1 | tee config-R-$version.log*
The "configure" command seems to run ok:

Installation help
Hello,
I am trying to compile R using the Sun WorkShop 6.0 (Forte) compilers.
I don't think I am having a problem with the compilers, but instead with
figuring out how to modify the R configuration to use non-Gnu compilers.
I found in your documentation that one should modify the config.site
file
to change compilers, compiler flags, library paths, etc. I made
modifications

Hi R-users,
I have this code here:

rho <- 0.868;
# simplified expressions
a <- alp-0.5
c1 <- sqrt(pi)/(gamma(alp)*(1-rho)^alp)
c2 <- sqrt(rho)/(1-rho)
t1 <- exp(-z/(1-rho))
t2 <- (z/(2*c2))^a
bes1 <- besselI(z*c2,a)
t1bes1 <- t1*bes1
c1*t1bes1*t2

Macro(dundi-dundi-test, ${ENTEN}) to return +101 on lookup failure ?
I'm looking at finding a way for my Macro(dundi-dundi-test,${ENTEN})
when I dial out on the dundi-test network to return a +101 to my
[dundi-test-out] context, if the number being dialed on the dundi-test
network does not exist, then I will route the call out using my pstn
or voip connection i have. I have a feeling it will have to be the
switch => DUNDi/dundi-test that will have to return

Error compiling R.2.8.1 with gcc 4.4 on Mac OS 10.5.6
Hi all,
I've encountered a build error with the latest R source (2.8.1). This is a
relatively fresh install of OS Leopard (10.5.6), latest developer tools
installed, gcc/g++/gfortran version 4.4 installed (via
http://hpc.sourceforge.net/, after which I updated the gcc & g++ symlinks to
link to the 4.4 versions; gfortran used the 4.4 version without updating the
symlink).
Ultimately I

Variable expansion in LDA vs POP/IMAP
Hello all,
I'm trying to understand when exactly the variable substitution
happens in Dovecot, as I get different results in the LDA and in the POP/IMAP
server.
Here's my general setup:
- Postfix MTA, delivers mail via Dovecot LDA
- users list sits in a database
- mail directory is stored in the database, but with
Dovecot variables inside
Delivery works perfectly fine,

Hello,
I am using voipuser.org service, and am trying to make a SIP call.
Everything seems to work fine, except I can't hear anything on my end.
When I make a SIP call, the other party can hear me, but I can't hear
anything. I am using asterisk + Digium TDM board with an FXO port

I connect a regular telephone. Can anyone assist? I believe I have

Error in nlm : non-finite value supplied by 'nlm'
Hello,
I am trying to compute MLE for non-Gaussian AR(1). The error term follows a difference poisson distribution. This distribution has one parameter (vector[2]).
So in total I want to estimate two parameters: the AR(1) paramter (vector[1]) and the distribution parameter.
My function is the negative loglikelihood derived from a mixing operator.

underflow handling in besselK (PR#2179)
The besselK() function knows about overflows/underflows internally;
there is a constant xmax_BESS_K in src/nmath/bessel.h (and referred to
only in bessel_k.c), equal to 705.342, which is checked if expon.scaled is
FALSE. (The equivalent number for bessel_i.c is 709, defined as
exparg_BESS in bessel.h.) However, besselK(x) silently returns +Inf if
x>705.342. This behavior is reasonable for
