and receivefax seems to be working ok. The connect speed is low somewhere between 2400-9600 but it seems to be working. Actually I was able to receive international fax. Of course with some failures :-) If you want to use T38 in asterisk over ip with ata I didn't have too much luck with it. May be it would worked better on LAN. It seems that Spandsp has everything in it (when you include rxfax and txfax) to be a T.38 termination when used with Asterisk 1.4? And if so, what version of Spandsp? What version of IAXModem (so I don't have to also deal with T38Modem)?

I've seen there are spandsp, iaxmodem to simulate a modem for receiving faxes under asterisk. Hylafax can be "tricked" to think it is a real modem. Can I create a dialup/access server with the same method? Can ppp run on top of this "software" modem?

I just looking about SpanDSP, Hylafax/Iaxmodem, AsterFax,...etc. The asterisk box has Digium hardware, one TE420B and one TDM2402 (8 FXO ports). Hi Last month, people reported a crash with Asterisk 1.2.13 and spandsp-0.0.3 when receiving a fax using fax detection. Today I've tried 1.2.14 with the latest spandsp 0.0.3pre27 and with the snapshots for app_rxfax.c and app_txfax.c. The problem still happens. Has anyone found how to resolve this issue?
