asterisk and gnokii on same server: scratchy sound
Hi, Has anyone tried to use gnokii to send/receive SMS messages via serial or USB with AT commands while running Asterisk? Some of my calls have a "scratchy sound" once in a while. It doesn't seem to be due to packet loss but some kind of interference (CPU is ok, etc.). I've noticed some coincidence in time between this scratchy sound and the gnokii process. I have a bash

Help making gnokii (cvs version) rpm for CentOS 5
Hi, I'm trying to package gnokii (using FC6 SRPM as base). I can build it without problems, my problem is that I want to upgrade it from CVS version. I download the cvs version (from cvs, because "current" tar.gz appears to be broken) but ... ?How can I convert this CVS version to a "peseudo release" to make a diff from 0.6.14 and add the patch into the SOURCES? Thanks

5.9, GNOKII, SMS and Huawei [ E160G | E176 ]
Hi I want to setup a SMS system for Nagios on a 5.9 box. I read in a blog that the two modems Huawei [ E160G | E176 ] work with 6.3. Anybody any experience with those modems and do they work with 5.9? Are there any other devices that are better/recommended? Problems with MGE ESV 8+ and NUT 2.0.3
Hello, I recently had a failure with my old MGE ESV8 ups, it just died on me so I had to get a new one. I found a MGE ESV8+ cheap and everything seems to work fine with it except the communication with the computer. The old ESV8 (non +) worked fine with NUT after applying some patches I got from the mailing list, but I think they are in the source tree now. I'm using the same cable that

Tripplite SMX1500XLRT2U through serial
Hello list- Anyone with Tripplite SMX1500XLRT2U (http://www.tripplite.com/EN/products/model.cfm?txtModelID=2687) successfully integrated with NUT through serial port? I'm trying to connect to SMX1500XLRT2U using serial cable shipped with UPS under FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE and NUT 2.2.2 installed from ports. Unfortunately, it looks like it couldn't be recognized. %dmesg | grep sio sio0:

CentOS vs. Nokia Phones
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have been trying to access my Nokia 6230 using a DKU-2 data cable from CentOS, with some weird results. Interesting thing is that I have VMWare installed on this machine and, if I install the Nokia Suite inside it, it can access the phone without problems. So all hardware related parts are working. Anyway, kernel load the cdc_acm module, and gives

Hello all, Some time ago, you all were very helpful in getting nut running on an OpenBSD system, using--for what it's worth--a CyberPower 1500AVR. So I finally got my FreeBSD system's UPS, also a CyberPower 1500AVR, within reach of its serial cable and I'm trying to get nut running here. I'm going nuts. Basically, I copied the OpenBSD configuration over to the FreeBSD system

Normalizing called numbers
Hi, I'm working on my dial plan and I'd like to parse all dialed numbers to convert them to the format I want. For example if someone dials 0112345678 or 0033112345678 I would like to convert it to +33112345678 and then match the number to my exten => +33XXXXXXXX statements. Is this possible with asterisk? I tried different ways (using _., s, ...) but I can't seem to get that

RE Fentonups driver - FreeBSD 6.x
Hi Stefanos, you should mail to the NUT list, and try the megatec driver, which is only available from subversion for the moment (but should be included in the next stable release). Carlos might give you some help with this driver. Re: [Asterisk] GSM access
Hi Mark Did you or anyone else ever find a satisfactory solution to this? Are there any phones which provide voice through the serial connection? What about the nokia card phone - does it have open source drivers? cyberpower driver
I'm looking for people that are using the 'cyberpower' driver that has been available for some years now. It seems the overhauled 'powerpanel' driver could support your UPS too. The commands and status bytes used are identical, the only difference being the way the values read for battery charge, temperature and frequency are interpreted. If we can find a way to detect when to

Rhino Channel Bank or ADIT 600
I am forklifting a Merridian option 51c with 112 Nortel Digital Handsets and 400 analog units. For the analog units I have quotes for 9 ADIT 600 48 port fxs units and 17 Rhino 24 port FXS channel banks. I have used neither. Which is the best choice? The price difference is not that great. I am looking at Citelinks 24 port Handset Gateway for the Nortel Digital units. (Any other suggestions

Die, KDE! Die! (Sticking with Gnome and Yum Conflicts)
Okay, I experimented with both KDE and Gnome, and decided I'd rather use Gnome. After making this decision, I wanted to remove KDE, because I like to keep my hard drive as lean as possible. I accomplished this, or so I thought, by running: # yum groupremove "KDE (K Desktop Environment)". It seemed to work. Removed a whole bunch 'o stuff. Okay, but then I wanted to install k3B,
