Hi, Interesting problem, as I am also going to move my Gnokii phone to 6.0 soon. Did you try your phone with gnokii, running 6.0 on another system? Maybe the problem is with the serial port on your server. On Wed, Mar 22, 2006 at 09:43:13AM +0100, Morten A. If another device hangs on the IRQ for too long, the cuad0 silo will overflow and you are losing characters, which probably cause the gnokii conversation with the phone to fail. Try tweaking your BIOS so that cuad0 doesn't share interrupts. I've seen other suggestions, such as fiddling with HZ and modifying sio.c but this one is probably the simplest. HTH Helge

The only thing I had to change was the device name, /dev/cuad0. I needed the system back up quickly, so unfortunately I didn't get the chance to experiment more with gnokii on the newer Dell PowerEdge 2850 server. with regards, -- Morten A. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to experiment with the IRQs as you suggested, as I needed gnokii back up and working quickly. See my previous mail to this list today for further info :) Anyway, thanks for your time with regards, -- Morten A.
