Dear R Commander experts, I have now had multiple failures in loading R Commander with R version 2.10.1 (most recent one on the CRAN site) on a Mac running OS 10.5 or 10.6. The installation of R Commander seems to proceed normally, but when I try to start up R Commander, it never loads. It appears that it is loading the tcl/tk package that is failing even though I have started up X11 in advance.

I am getting the following error on iMac running Mac OS 10.5.6; this occurs whenever I try to import a text file into R Commander: Error in splitCmd(command) : unbalanced quotes Thus, I am unable to import data into R Commander. Dear All, I want to change the default options of Rcmdr; it seemed to work when I made changes and click the "Exit and Restart R Commander". However, next time I open Rcmdr, it automatically restored to the default options. Is there a way to change Rcmdr's options permanently? Thanks! Shige

Just installed Rcmdr on a Linux box. When I exit from both Rcmdr and R together from the regular Rcmdr exit menu, it leaves my xterm with "stty -echo", so that nothing that is typed appears. It turns out this was caused by missing data and the fact that I had previously turned on R Commander (Rcmdr). John Fox knew that Rcmdr sets na.action to na.exclude, which causes the problem.
