Fwd: Export cd's without mounting them. samba vfs module using gnu's libcdio
Hi, Sorry about posting to both lists, but I didn't get any feedback from samba-technical. I'm developing a vfs module that allows CDs to behave in a more "Windows" like fashion. If anyone out there cares about the ability to export cds without mounting them, please try this out and let me know what you think, if it works for you, whats wrong with my code, etc. Thanks, Dan

cdr from operator initiated calls
I posted a message yesterday that it looked like I was missing cdr sent to mysql. I've done a little more digging and it now appears that calls I initiate via TAPI (asttapi) are ending (when the phone is hungup) with DIALSTATUS=CANCEL May 17 08:59:56 VERBOSE[14874]: -- Lauching Dial(IAX2/sturtevant/18008648331) on IP/200- May 17 08:59:56 VERBOSE[14874]: -- Called

Help installing software with multiple cd's
I have been trying to install several games, and all of the ones that have more than one disk fail, one way or another, at the point of changing cd's. Some (doom3) just quit [there exists an alternative plan for doom3], and others (Baldur's Gate-SoA) lock up the cd and won't let go. The only way to get the cd out is to kill the installer. I found the instructions on WineHQ, which say

mount problems during install
Hi there! I'm a very confident wine user and totally pleasured except this issue: When trying to install a program requiring more then one cd (in this case Soldier of Fortune 2) the installer asks me to change the cd, but as linux requires to unmount cds before they can be ejected and unmounting is not possible even by -forcing it because of the program on the cd being in use. Is there any

It won't be long until big labels attempt to eliminate the digital ins and outs of equipment. The problem they face is most people that currently use a rack system featuring digital interconnects will NEVER revert to an analog only system. I know that I won't! Think back to VHS, BetaMax, SVHS and LaserDisc. VHS has incredible market share because its licensing is open. Betamax was

Burn flac to cd

Surely it would be possible to have something apply the ReplayGain to the WAV after decoding and prior to writing them to CD... but I don't know

Audio CDs not detected by winecfg, and dbpoweramp CD Ripper
Hi ! Audio CDs seem to be invisible to winecfg. I want to use dbpowerramp CD Ripper under Linux using WINE. CD Ripper doesn't see audio CDs, too. I am using WINE 1.3.33, Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. Ubuntu itself correctly identifies the CD drives, and the Audio CDs. The CD-Rom-Drives are internal ATAPI drives, and external Plextor drives connected via firewire. If I put _data_ CDs into those drives

Hi. I've tried to find this solution and have not been successful. Never used wine before and am just getting into Linux. Opensuse 10.3. Wine is installed. Using Wine-door. I have an application that has 2 CD's. the first CD installs then asks for the 2nd CD. Unable to eject the first cd. Get error message media is busy and can't eject. Can't figure out how to get it to

How to create a CD/DVD
Hi! Assuming I have all the files (basically I've downloaded the ISOs) of CentOS 4 (RC1 for now, but 4.0 in the future) how do I recreate the ISO images - both to regain the original 4 CDs (less important) - and to achieve a DVD image (more important but can probably be guessed from the answer to how to make the CDs). Any takers? [note I've burned many CDs - I'm basically

You don't actually lose the audio data, right, just the structure of the CD (which can probably be captured with cue files anyway)? I've ripped CDs with pregap audio before, and I'm pretty sure it's not getting

samba and automount
I'm running Samba with automount to automatically mount CDs in a server. These CDs need to be changed periodically, so I wanted to use automount so that they could be changed by the users fairly easily. We use logon scripts to map the CDs to drive letters when users logon. Unfortunately, it seems that having a drive mapped is treated like the drive is being used, so as long as there is

How do I get WINE to see a mounted disc image as a CD?
I prefer to run games that require CDs from image files, since it is faster and protects the life of my CDs. In windows, I would just mount the disc image and I could then play. But using Wine and Ubuntu, it appears to work differently. When installing a Windows CD using WINE under Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit, how should I go about mounting a disc image so it is seen by games running under WINE as a CD?

How to change CD drive?
I have to install SLES9.3 distributive which is of 9 CDs as HVM domU. Having their ISO images ready, I hardly found a document describing the exact procedure of changing virtual CDs when installing the OS: http://www.novell.com/support/dynamickc.do?externalId=3172795&sliceId=SAL_Public&command=show&forward=nonthreadedKC&kcId=3172795 It really helps.
