Need help with printer drivers
Thanks Rowland. I've followed the guide on that page, the following
page looks good:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configuring_Point%27n%27Print_automatic_printer_driver_deployment
However, when I try to add a driver with "Print Management" to the
Samba server, I got an access denied error.
Here's how I did it.

Asterisk 1.8 Paging without DAHDI or MOH Shoutcast with DAHDI
We just finished an upgrade of our Asterisk system to an HA
environment on a pair of servers using Linux-HA. As part of the
upgrade, we also moved to Asterisk version 1.8.4.3
Most things are working quite nicely on the new system. However, I?m
having trouble getting a paging feature to work. In Asterisk 1.4, we
simply used the Page() application like this:

problem printer driver on Windows XP
We have a strange problem with some printers on a Windows XP host:
When we print a testpage from the linux server (RedHat 8), there's no
problem. But when we configure the printer on our Windows XP client and
we want to print a testpage: nothing happens and we get the "windows
troubleshooter". When we print a Word document to the same printer on
the same Windows XP client, the

"Ghost" print job.
Hi all,
I'm currentlly using samba-2.2.2 together with LPRng-3.7.4, and have a
problem with a printjob that woun't go away. I use samba for a small
file/printserver for 10 people using win98se clients, and it's been
working very nicely. As I upgraded from samba-2.0.6, I sent out a
testpage from one of the win98se clients to the two printers (hpljet 6L,
Epson stylus photo 750) we have

is wrong. The print server is working but I have a couple of questions
about using APW to install printer drivers and Windows 7.
Linux server: Centos 6
Samba version: 3.6.3 - Default install (./configure; make && make install)
I did the usual,
net use \\myprinter\print$ /user:root

cupsaddsmb and .inf files
Hi,
I've also got problems downloading drivers from samba to a windows client.
I'm running Debian Samba 3.0.7-1, and Cupssys 1.1.20final
My Windows Client is a Win2KPro.
I succesfully installed my printers with Cups and they work fine under
Linux, and from remote cups clients.
I've been trying to follow the samba docs on serving postscript drivers
for cups from the print share in

Missing Driver Options
Hi all,
I work with a CUPS/Samba Printserver and I allocate the drivers via the point n print methode.
Yesterday I get a new HP Laserjet 2420. I installed the HP-driver with the APW of Windows XP. Everything seams to be ok. I printed a testpage without any problems. In the next step I tested the new options of this printer (duplex,...). But I saw, that the driver did not offer this options.

Printer-Problems
Hi Folks,
fresh CentOS 5.5 x86_64.
One USB-printer connected (HP Business Inkjet 1200)
Printing from localhost:631 (Testpage) works.
But no from any application.
From OO only the message: printer-problem - no more.
Second printer is from far (Cupsd) in the network.
Works well.
But what's about the local printer?
Any hints?
Thx

NT can't print while Win 95 can?
Hello all,
I have a printing problem with NT, Samba 1.9.18p8 and Debian Linux
1.3 (Kernel 2.0.32). I defined a printer share, which works fine
with Win95, but it does not print with NT 4.0 SP3 and NT 3.51. After
installing the "EnablePlainTextPassword" registry entry NT4.0 is
able to browse, connect and use a file system share on the
printserver, but it can not print to the same

Need help with printer drivers
Are your windows machines part of the 'WORKGROUP' workgroup ?
- Yes, and the windows client is not a domain member.
I've checked the system properties, it show WORKGROUP
Does 'work' exist as a Unix user ?
- Yes, otherwise `smbpasswd -a work` complains
Does 'work' exist as a windows user ?
- No, the windows client can be any user.

Public printing and private sharing?
hi,
this is my first post on this list, i hope i do everything right :)
so, this is my situation:
there's a small network (about ~30 PCs), most of which are running XP
pro, some Vista (if the latter would complicate things a lot, we could
forget about them)
there's a server running ubuntu, to which a Brother HL5150D printer is
attached; printing using cups works fine, and if i set samba

3.5.1 64 bit windows printing is working a bit
Hi,
although I don't expect any answers (like most of the times) , here is my
experience so far:
I run a samba printserver for +3.000 hosts and 600 printers with a correct
setup successfully. So be sure, everything is plugged in, I tried to turn
it off and on again, I RTFM'ed and so on.
Here is my most successfull attempt to get the printservice going on 3.5.1
and windows 7 46 bit
