Automaticaly create User-Home directories for NFS
Hello, I have a problem with my Samba4 AD-Controller and NFS. We want to distribute a NFS-Share for our home directory. The problem is that the client is trying to create it on the fly for the first user login but you get 'Permission denied' because of the root_spuash option of the NFS-Server. My question: Is there any posibillity that the normal home directory is created after adding

Changing default UID/GID beginning for AD
Dear Colleagues, we have a Samba4 DC in our environment. We are storing unix Information in samba's AD. Our Problem is: The default values are not fitting for our environment. We want to store a different Shell e.g /bin/tcsh. But the default Value is /bin/sh. Is it possible, to change those default values so that it fits direct at the creation of a user? [PATCH] nv10/exa: Spring-cleaning
* Kill the A8+A8 hack. Recent enough X servers (>=1.7) fall back to ARGB glyphs for drivers not supporting A8 render targets. * Kill all the global state. It doesn't matter a lot yet but it might if we get multicard working at some point. * Other random clean-ups with no functional changes. Some numbers from x11perf -aa10text -aa24text -comppixwin10 -comppixwin500: * Before, with A

Anyone using antivirus software?
Hello list, I was just wondering if anyone is using anti-virus software on their Samba server. I have protection on my clients, but I want to run software on the server too. I've looked at McAfee's Virus Scan, but as far as I can tell, it only uses "on-demand" scanning, meaning I have to trigger it from the command line, or run a cron job. I would like to have

Returning Data Frame from Function for use Outside Function
I have a function (see below) that does some bootstrapping (I am happy to expand offline why I could use existing functions.) I put my results into and empty matrix and add a row of results with each iteration. My problem is i am a new user to R and I don't understand data frames, matrices, elements, and vectors well. What I would like is to have a data frame I can manipulate outside of the

Changing default UID/GID beginning for AD
Yes of course. We use Samba4 ADDC with winbind to get unix attributes from the DC to the clients. But every time we creating a new member in the AD we have to change the default shell what is /bin/sh to /bin/tcsh. So we want to change the default value of the field in the AD that we don't have to change it every time. The users logging in on a unix domain member. No login on DC

Problems writing to a mounted CIFS share
I'm currently struggeling with a cifs mount from a windows 2003 server. The share can be mounted with mount.cifs, but despite using the rw mount option, the mountpoint can only be accessed read-only. Trying to write on the share results in a permission denied error. This happens on a 2.4.21 kernel with the shipped CIFS kernel module. The mount command used is: mount.cifs
