Slow initial connect
Hi, I'm running samba on several systems, two redhat 6.1 systems and one Solaris 7 system. On all three there's about a 5-10 second wait upon the first connect before it logs in. This is causing a problem, as on occasion it fails to connect at all - gives no error or anything, just does nothing, especially when double-clicking on shortcuts from the desktop. And the icons for said

Mac OS X client problem with supplementary groups
I have a very simple Samba 3.0.1 install without LDAP/ADS/winbind support compiled into it. I have noticed a strange problem with supplementary groups I noticed with Mac OS X (10.3.2). The SAMBA server is using 'ntdomain' authentication. When someone connects to the SAMBA server and gives their username in uppercase (the OS's default), then none of the secondary UNIX groups the

Win95/WinNT name mangling / case sensitivity
Hello, could anyone give me a working configuration (only the 3 or 4 lines required for the desired settings) for our Win95 / WinNT4.0-Clients. Our samba server: 1.9.18p7 Our customers would drag and drop a file within the browsers from a local drive (for example C:) to a SAMBA-connetced network drive *WITHOUT* changing anything within the file name (length, case etc.). I would be glad to get

smbstatus getting a SIGBUS error
Somemore information regarding the smbstatus error. The sigbus error is occuring where I noted below. I now have data values to go along with the location. The SIGBUS generating bit is "entry_scanner_p->e.pid" which looks to be in an unaccessable area of memory. Looking back through the code, I find a couple of bizarities. For example file_scanner_p->num_share_mode_entries

Mangled Names, Directory Listing and Access Failure, Unix-to-Unix
I am using a recent version of Samba mounted through GVFS. If I configure with the option "mangled names" unspecified, I am able to access everything fine, but files with ':' or '?' get mangled to the point of unusability. If I specify "mangled names = no", I see everything fine with the reserved characters displayed properly, but I am unable to list or access
