Unwanted browselists
Is there a way to prevent browselists from machines other than those
of my choosing to show up in the browselists/network neighbourhood?
I don't want win95 clients that offer shares themselves to show up
in the network neighbourhood.

Multiple domain browselist over a wanlink
Hi,
I'm trying to generate a multiple domain browselist but I don't get it to
work.
I've tried everyting by the book but the result is always the same:
I can see the other workgroup(s) but they are empty. Currently I've added
the following rules to the smb.conf
remote browse sync = 192.168.2.2 192.168.2.4
remote announce = 192.168.2.2 192.168.2.4
As far as I understand

Can a router be a local master browser in a NT domain?
Can a router between two subnets (call it A and B) be the local master
browser of the one subnet (net A) in a NT domain, when the Domain Master
Browser (as well as PDC and BDC) are located in the other subnet (B)?
Will say, does the Domain Master Browser of a NT domain accept a Local
Master Browser in the same subnet (as the router is accessed from B via
the interface ethB)?
The reason for my

Posting to browselists in other subnets?
Hi everyone,
I'm running Samba 1.9.18p10 and it works great. But I can't get it to
announce to other subnets that are on the other side of a router. I've
added "remote announce = 192.168.1.255" to smb.conf (my machine is in
192.168.0.0 subnet) and there are no other NT machines in any of the
subnets. What should I look for?
Thanks,
Joe

I''m new to Xen so apologies if this is a stupid question.
Setup is as follows:
Dom0 and DomU''s running Hardy Heron

My problem is I want to run TShark on DomU to see packets sent to eth0 on
Dom0.
TShark on Dom0 can see packets sent to DomU on eth0 but DomU cannot see
packets sent to Dom0 on eth0. I know the eth0 on DomU is a

Network Resource Type is not correct - home directories only
Hi. I've done something to disallow the access to home directories.
Permissions to these directories are the same as when they worked. The only
major change is that i added a few shares(4) last evening.
I've obviously done something...can't figure out what it is. Any help is
grately appreciated.
TIA

Incomplete browselists with %G
When I build an smb.conf using a line like:
include = /usr/local/samba/lib/%G.conf
then it works beautifully for the shares that are listed in the
appropriate <primary group>.conf files, that is, I can connect to them
and all...
However, I can only _browse_ the shares listed in the main smb.conf
file, not the ones in the <primary group>.conf files that should
be included, even

different browselists on multi homed server
Scenario:
One Samba server with multiple network adapters each hooked to a
different network.
Question:
How can I configure Samba (nmdb) to show different shares when browsing
the Samba server from clients connected to the different networks?
Background:
The nmdb is always running in a single instance, doesn't matter how
often it is started.

Why can't Anove (car package) see the data?
At the end of the 'Details:' section of the help on Anova (car
package), it states:
The standard R `anova' function calculates sequential (type-I)
tests. These rarely test meaningful hypotheses.
So I thought I'd try it. However, I was perplexed to get this

Samba4, browselist, nbt and wins
Hi folks,
i'am still confused when searching around for samba4 adc, wins and
browselist.
In my DCs smb.conf I have activated the server service nbt, defined wins
support = yes and could not see my domain controller in browselist.
Before provision from samba3 with ldap, I renamed the pdc, because the
old one had the same name like the domain (was working well over years).

Samba 3 on Suse 9.0 cannot see Windows boxes on the network
A machine with a fresh installation of Suse 9.0 can reach the router and the
internet, is set to belong to the local workgroup, but cannot see the other
three Windoze boxes (xp, w2kpro) and cannot be seen by them. smb.conf looks
correct according to the documentation & FAQs I have seen. Obviously I'm
missing something crucial; any hints on what that might be would be most
appreciated.

Dom0 cannot see network when bridge is enabled
I''ve seen a lot of threads w/ similar problems, but none have posted a
resolution.
I am using Debian 4.0r1 (Etch). I was using the xen packages from
stable, but have tried w/ testing as well and the problem persists.
http://pastie.caboo.se/95144
Host is 10.0.0.20 on network 10.0.0.0/24.
Dom0 is thus 10.0.0.20
DomU is 10.0.0.30
When the bridge is enabled, DomU can ping everything.
