Hi Joe,
many routers don't send broadcasts (.255) over the interfaces. As Scott
intended, try:
smbclient -L 192.168.1.255 -U username.
If this doesn't work, try to use the ip adress of the browse master on the
other subnet like: "remote announce = 192.168.1.10" (assuming
192.168.1.10
would be the adress of the other browse master).
We have an similar scenery like you:
a subnet 10.0.0.0 and a net 10.1.0.0 connected by a router.
On subnet 10.0.0.0 the samba server "A-Samba" (ip 10.0.0.1) is
configured as
the whole browse master via "wins support = yes". It announces the
browse
list
"remote browse sync = 10.1.0.23", where "10.1.0.23" is a
samba server,
"B-Samba", on the other subnet. With "wins server =
10.0.0.1" (means
A-Samba) and
"remote browse sync = 10.0.0.1" the browse lists are exchanged. So
every
client an every subnet sees all connected machines.
Hope this helps
