[Samba] Cannot see any clients in the "network neighborhood"
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I had a working 2.0.6 samba on a RH6.2 system with a 2.4.14 kernel. Clients are all win98/win95 except a win/me laptop. I recently upgraded to 2.2.3a ( from source) and since then I cannot see any of the clients in the "network neighborhood". I cannot even see the workgroup under the "entire network". All clents are configured via dhcp and are setup to see the linux samba serve as a wins proxy. HOWEVER: I can still connect by name to all the clients. just cannot see them anymore under the network neighborhood or windows explorer.. This all worked fine prior to the upgrade.... a partial clipping of the smb.conf file: # Global parameters [global] announce as = Win95 workgroup = LAW netbios name = ALBATROS server string = Samba Server interfaces = 192.168.11.7/24 192.168.12.1/28 encrypt passwords = Yes passwd program = /usr/bin/passwd %u passwd chat = *New*UNIX*password* %n\n *ReType*new*UNIX*password* %n\n *passwd:*all*authentication*tokens*updated*successfully* username map = /etc/samba/smbusers log level = 0 log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m max log size = 50 name resolve order = wins bcast host lmhosts socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=8192 SO_SNDBUF=8192 os level = 65 preferred master = Yes domain master = Yes dns proxy = No wins proxy = Yes wins support = Yes message command = /usr/bin/linpopup guest account = pcguest hosts allow = 192.168.11. 192.168.20 192.168.12.
