xen network io load
Hello I have Xen related issues. I try to describe it as best as I can. While transmitting large amounts of data from domU the IO load increases greatly, thus making the domU unusable. The load is significant even on dom0. The performance of cpus and hard drives is not an issue. We have this problem on all servers with diferent hw configurations. Please do you know the reason of this behaviour,

IAX calls drop suddenly?
Hi, I've got asterisk working as a PSTN gateway between two sites. The IP connection is pretty good and bandwidth exceeds 640Kbps all the time. I'm using X100P hardware on 300Mhz and 333MHz systems. One of them has a sound card, but the slower system does not have a sound card. Both are connected to PBXes and I have busydetect=yes on one end because the PBX doesn't drop the

Applications start with title bar grayed
When I try to start notepad, it starts with a grayed title bar, like it wasnt active. I cant enter text into the input window. Strange thing, menus work. To get it look like active and type text, I must select the system menu and "About wine". After closing the new window (that has appeared as active), i see that notepad appears active and I can enter text. Has someone this issue ?

Hi All, For many years I have had an OS/2 box peer to peer Netbois over TCP/IP connecting to either stand alone WIN98 or Dual boot with OS/2. Now I've moved the laptops over to Linux. I installed Linspire which is supposed to support Samba. Being new to Samba I have no idea what to to put in the .conf file - on Linspire there's 5 of these files. All I have changed is the workgroup

MIDI configuration
I would know what is needed to get MIDI playing into wine. I know I must have a card that supports it :). Must I change something into the registry (I have read the docu but it doesnt help), into .wine/config ? Do some drivers have to be loaded ? Has someone a small/big application to test it ? Thanks. ===== Sylvain Petreolle spetreolle@users.sourceforge.net Fight against Spam !

[PATCH] Fix vnc-dryrun option interaction
A patch that was applied yesterday tried to turn the vnc option off if dryrun was set. Unfortunately, the way it was actually coded turned vnc ON if dryrun was not set! I think this patch should fix it (someone who actually uses vnc & dryrun should test it, though). -George +-------------------+---------------------------------------- | dunlapg@umich.edu |

Bug#168259: r-base-core: help.start() assumes netscape is installed (PR#2275)
> Package: r-base-core > Version: 1.5.1-0woody1 > Severity: minor > > I don't have Netscape on my system. Trying to follow the sample To best of my knowledge, this R feature dates from a time when Netscape was essentially the only browser out there. It also had a most useful feature: you could attach new request (resulting in a new "frame" in X11 / window manager

Install new version of Samba on Redhat Linux
Hello, I want to setup a Samba PDC on a RedHat Linux6.0 for NTWS, but I got some problems, could anybody has ideas? RedHat 6.0 include samba version 2.0.3. And 2.0.3 seems cannot be a PDC for NTWS. So I tired to download and install a newer version of Samba (2.0.6 and CVS). After I install the newer version, I found that it still cannot be a PDC for NTWS (cannot found the PDC), also I found

owner of a smbd thread
Hi, I've set up a Samba server accessed by NTWS 4. When I do a "ps aux" on the server, i can see a line for each user connected with a "smbd -D" command. The owners of these commands are mostly root but sometimes the users themselves. How to force the owner of the command in order to be available to get a list of connected users with an "ps aux" and an

Long Share Names and Windows NT Workstation 4.0
Hello, Can anyone advise if there is a limit on the length of share names in Samba when accessing via NT Workstation 4.0 clients? It seems that the limit is 12 characters for NT, our Windows 98, 2000 and XP machines work with longer share names. If so does anyone know if there is a patch to make long share names work with NTWS 4.0? Best regards, Keith

Using Office2K (Word & Excel) on NTWS 4.0 and samba 3.0.0 on Debian Linux, kernel 2.4.21. 1. Run Excel and create a sheet. Save it to the Samba server. No problem. 2. Close the sheet and open a new one (File->New). 3. Try to save the new sheet over the first one and Excel gives the error: "Cannot save the file. 'H:\test\Book1.xls' is not a valid file name." 4.
