smbmount problem
Hello. I hope that this is the proper place to ask this. Here is my problem. I have several smbmounts under Red Hat Linux 5.1. They need to be accessed by my apache web server. One of the mounts keeps getting disconnected, but this is not noticed by Linux. So the Linux box thinks that the files under the smbmount are still accessable when they aren't actually mounted. What would be the best

[LLVMdev] Auto-generating c++ API from bitcode
I tried compiling latest llvm with clang (3.3). I am trying to generate c++ API code from bitcode(.bc) file using "llc -march=cpp" This used to work with 2.3 release (I guess). With the current release, it is unable to figure out architecture "cpp" am doing something wrong? is there other way to achieve this? may be different utility that I missed? --Ashish --------------

[LLVMdev] Auto-generating c++ API from bitcode
Hi Ashish, > This used to work with 2.3 release (I guess). > With the current release, it is unable to figure out architecture "cpp" That's a big gap! Regardless, it should still work exactly as you're trying to do. It does on my local builds. > am doing something wrong? is there other way to achieve this? Could you tell us how you're building LLVM? (I.e. cmake

Problem printing with WinXP and samba
I am having problems printing from my XP machine to a printer hosted from a linux redhat 8 w/samba2.2.7-2 installed. I can see the printer fine from \\[server] (browsing from network places) and I can see other shares and stuff, but once I install the printer, it says "access denied, unable to connect". So I'm assuming that I need to set security on a file somewhere, but since

Microsoft Fax
Hello, does anyone has some Information about M$ Exchanges Fax. If you configure Exchange there is an Option about Fax. If you go there, you can say you have the Modem on your PC or you can say it is in the Network and you have to put in the Networkpath. It would be great to use this with Samba but at this time I think Samba doesnt support it. Maybe someone has some Information for me how I

Trouble connecting with smblient
I've just installed version 1.9.18p8 on SPARC Solaris 2.5. I can connect with no problem from by NT box (map network drive), but when I try using smbclient '\\\\machine\\share' from the machine I installed on, I get: SMBtconX failed. LDAP with Samba
I was running through the cvs.log and I noticed that there was a bunch of stuff on LDAP authentication. I haven't seen anything on the official releases about this yet, and I was wondering when/if it was coming, or if it was already there and just undocumented. Anybody? -- ================================ Jay Christner Information Technology Services Goshen College

The samba recycle bin clarified
> Unless I am wrong, the "Recycle Bin" works only on LOCAL drives. Alas it does. But users don't know that and shouldn't be expected to understand the subtleties of operating systems, that's our job. In their world, when they use Windows or MacOS, a trashcan exists and should exist on servers as well. > Like Jonathan Kelly, I mirror network drives at night to a backup

disk space on NT
We have a 8GB scsi disk on a samba server. If we look in the explorer on our NT clients, we see only 4GB disk space with 0 bytes used (seems to be a 32 Bit limit ?!). Is this a problem of samba or of the NT client ? Any solution available ? Thanks K.Konzept

Problem with Samba caching file contents
Hello everybody, We are using Samba 2.02 on Sun Solaris 2.51 and 2.6 platforms. Using these as a file server we occasionally have the following problem: - the file is changed on the file server using standard UNIX tools while somebody else is editing it - the other user re-loads the file using a Windows 95 client - the content of the file seems to be the same as before the change on the windows

syslinux.exe no longer in win32 diectory
I had a recent issue with my system and needed to use a windows machine to create a bootable USB thumb drive. I wanted to use syslinux to write a boot loader to my usb drive but realized since v 5.10 syslinux no longer has syslinux.exe in the win32 directory. Is this a mistake or was this intentional? Where can I get version 6.x of syslinux.exe executable? Is it now required I build it myself?
