FW: Samba 1.9.17 fails to truncate share mode file (fwd)
Although the bug in Samba 1.9.17p1 which caused "ERROR: set_share_mode: failed to ftruncate share mode file" messages in log.smb has been fixed in 1.9.17p2, empty share* files are not being deleted from the lock file directory. Samba Problems
I have a couple of problems with Samba that I would appreciate help with: 1. Since installing version 1.9.17p1, error messages such as "ERROR: set_share_mode: failed to ftruncate share mode file /var/smb/locks/share.9175085.1500224 to size 42 (Permission denied)" are appearing in log.smb. 2. When a directory on a UNIX machine contains a file named *, this file appears with the name ~16

Irix 6.5: > is.na(c(1,NA)) #> FALSE FALSE
R 0.63.2, compiled using SGI cc and f90 on Irix 6.5 gives: > is.na(NA) [1] TRUE # OK > is.na(c(1,NA)) [1] FALSE FALSE # expected FALSE TRUE > is.nan(NaN) [1] FALSE # expected TRUE > is.nan(1/0) [1] FALSE # ditto The above functions work correctly for R compiled with gcc and g77 on an Irix 6.2 system. Missing tick marks bug on alpha solved
On some systems (alpha), tick marks don't appear on plots. The easiest way to see the problem is something like: > plot(0:1,axes=FALSE) > axis(1,1:2) The problem is in X11_Line(...) from .../src/unix/devX11.c, which is so short I've included the whole function below: static void X11_Line(double x1, double y1, double x2, double y2, int coords, DevDesc *dd) {

Hi all, I'm using asterisk CVS-08/14/03-22 on a box with a digium T1 connected to a channel bank and a digium E1 connected to the PSTN. I get occasional warnings from asterisk: WARNING[37909]: File chan_zap.c, Line 3197 (zt_read): zt_rec: Unknown error 500 This happens mosttimes in a loop like this: [netland_helpdesk] exten =>

Getters and setters problem?
Hi list, first evening of playing with rails, so please forgive me if I ask something stupid. ;-) I created a User model and tried to use ActiveRecord callbacks to convert the password to sha1 just before saving it. For some reason postgresql gives me a error because the given password is null. To test even further I tried to change :login too, same error happens, :login is empty too. I am sure

why "xcopy /d" doesn't work
Hi Germano, I just found your post regarding Samba and xcopy /d switch at http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2003-October/000699.html. This is also driving me mad. I was interested to know if you ever found a way around this problem ? It only seems to be a problem for me with 2000 and XP workstation. 98 works fine. Regards James

ActiveRecord: Minor saving problem
This is probably a very stupid error on my side, but I am doing my first steps now and I don''t see what is wrong. I have companies and I have users. A user can create a company. When the user does he''s automatically a member of the company. A company should be able to have multiple users off course so every member of a company can add other users who don''t have a

Why can't people learn to turn off this crap for lists? Funding freeeware (was: R-beta: help in sept) (fwd)
There needs to be more recognition in the academic community of the importance of contributions to widely used software. While many organizations are encouraging software development if it generates revenue, it is harder to measure the value of software that you give away. It is often hard to measure the number of users, so unless they mention you in citations, there is little hard evidence to

Compiling latest postfix fails on C8
Hi, I tried to compile the latest version of postfix, runs fine on C6 and C7, on C8 it fails. Complaining about missing ypclnt.h, this should com from glibc-headers. Any suggestions? [LLVMdev] [PATCH] Fix recompileAndRelinkFunction
Hello, JIT::recompileAndRelinkFunction's runJITOnFunction does not use the MCI arg, causing null pointer deferences at every call. Attached patch makes runJITOnFunction more reliable. Thanks, Gianluca -- It was a type of people I did not know, I found them very strange and they did not inspire confidence at all. Later I learned that I had been introduced to electronic engineers.

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Fix recompileAndRelinkFunction
Please add a test to http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project/llvm/trunk/unittests/ExecutionEngine/JIT/JITTest.cpp?view=markup verifying that recompileAndRelinkFunction() keeps working. Then this fix will look fine to me. On Tue, Dec 22, 2009 at 12:23 AM, Gianluca Guida <glguida at gmail.com> wrote: > On Tue, Dec 22, 2009 at 6:14 AM, Chris Lattner <clattner at apple.com> wrote: >>
