Mac OS X 10.5 compatibility?
I was wondering if Wine lost 10.5 compatibility, or if any of the few people out there with it have noticed a problem. Up through 1.3.25 it seems to compile and work fine. On 1.3.26 and 1.3.27 the compile will fail with errors about a bunch of symbols in msxml3.dll.so that are not found. Building 1.3.26 and 1.3.27 on 10.6 or 10.7 using a 10.5 SDK it will build fine and still work on 10.6 and

Xquartz problems is one reason in Wineskin Engines I have a custom built version of Xquartz... it doesn't use your systems installed X11 or Xquartz version... much like Crossover builds in their own X server as well. As to getting it to work in Wineskin... the NWN wrapper I made that is around comes with directions on how to get the game inside of it... then its just a mac app. Its not

Joystick functionality in Wine for Mac OS

Is there a difference ...?
Doh123, how is running a program off an NTFS partition asking for trouble? Ntfsprogs seems to handle it just fine. I know that NTFS doesn't let you mark a file as executable, and that the filesystem is susceptible to fragmentation, but you should just be able to tell it to run rather than display and be good. It shouldn't cause destruction. I think there might even be an NTFS defrag tool

Greetings, I have a windows program that i would like to run on the Mac. It is my understanding that i could install Wine on the Mac. And then my windows program will run from there. I'm far from an expert on the subject matter. Maybe some app that was written for Linux/BSD or whatever is looking at a LD_LIBRARY_PATH on its own and its nothing to do with the OS? I've never tried messing with LD_LIBRARY_PATH on OSX, but its not *supposed* to do anything normally. The OS Relies on DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH. Stumped with winetricks and source code
I'm using Leopard and I'm new to wine, MacPorts, the use of the terminal, and coding in general. Because of this, some of the language in the FAQ seems foreign to me and hasn't been very helpful, or its geared toward Unix users and not Mac OS X users. For Mac OS X users... Xquartz and RandR.
Just as a note.. Xquartz is going to have RANDR capabilities in Xquartz 2.6.0, thanks to the work of Jeremy Huddleston and Jan Hauffa. Right now on Macports if you install xorg-server-devel it will be a build with what is currently in of RandR... its still not totally finished, but it would be nice if some Mac Users could test how it works so far with Wine... if we find bugs now, it could help

Mac OS X version of Wine should be official
I have a new Mac OS X system that I want to run some games on. I don't want to have to buy Windows just to run a few games (which is the reason for the switch, as well as for doing photography). X11 (Mac) graphics problem

Tring to Build Wine from Source on OS X
So I'm attempting to build Wine from the the source files in the Git repository. After running ./configure I took note of the dependencies that were missing and went about trying to download, build and install them. I then re-ran ./configure and it still couldn't find any of the libraries I had just downloaded. My initial thought was that Macports was building the libraries as 64-bit.

Mouse still not working properly on OS X with 1.4

I'm trying to build a custom engine under Winery 1.3 on OSX 10.5 and I'm getting the same error that doh123 reported originally. Doh123, I noticed you released WS8Wine-1.3.33 which works on OSX 10.5. How did you get this to compile? Did you compile on 10.5? I can compile 1.3.33 using Winery 1.3 on 10.6, but it crashes when used on 10.5. We're working with a custom build of the wine

the state of wine under Mac Os X
Lately I've tried running some games under Snow Leopard, 10.6.4 to be precise, most of them being pre-Direct X 8 games, mainly for nostalgia reason. Most of these games had no big problems running under Ubuntu 10.10 32bit, and being used to run Wine under Mac Os for some legacy work-related application, I thought It would have been pretty straightforward to run such games under Snow Leopard.
