WoW using d3d
Sharing this in case it is helpful to any other WoW players with the opengl issues or to anyone working on d3d in Wine. I've been trying World of Warcraft without the -opengl tag since Blizzard introduced their latest round of opengl breaking updates. I was very pleasantly surprised to find the game both playable and stable in d3d. I still have a couple graphical issues but they are not

Wine d3d apps: Fuzzy (badly distorted) picture
Hey guys. I have this problem. All of my games look like this, picture is badly distorted (but games clearly work). I have been trying to solve this for the last 10hrs, trying different X resolutions/refresh rates, different games settings, different wine settings/versions, different monitor inputs(vga,dvi,hdmi)/settins, whatever came to my mind. Nothing worked, always the same fuzzy picture.

Problems with Direct Rendering (D3D) in Wine
Hello, my name is Gregor Galwas, I am new to this group / mailing list. I have a problem since I started using Wine. As far as I remember every game that uses D3D with wine doesn't work properly, doesn't work or work very very slow. My problem appears no matter of wine version, (current) gfx-driver or kernel-version. For example I would like to point to Diablo2. It works nicely when I

Crash with D3D and OpenGL
I'm trying to get the game Perfect World International to run under Wine. The installer ran without an apparent problem, but when I try to run the patcher (what usually runs next under windows), I get the following error: almond at Skuld[18]% wine /Users/ralmond/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Perfect\ World\ Entertainment/Perfect\ World\ International/patcher/patcher.exe > pwi.log

Unable to load roaming profiles samba-4.3 FreeBSD
I am seeing these in smb.log and each time I do it appears that the user in question is unable to retrieve their roaming profile. Does anyone know what is going on and more importantly, how to cure it? . . . D3D problem... Mac Specific?
I don't know if this is the right place for this; but seeing as it's the only publicly accessible forum on winehq I thought I'd try here first. I've been trying to run a couple of games by Nifflas (http://nifflas.ni2.se). His older games, Knytt, Knytt Stories, and Within A Deep Forest all run perfectly with the correct Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Libraries installed. However,

Broken D3D?
Hi guys. I've got a bit of a problem that I can't quite figure out and I've not been able to find anything useful in relation to this issue. I've searched through these forums and on google, etc.. and have found nothing so far that has helped. My problem is with Fallout 3, which I know isn't quite working entirely yet anyway. It won't even start, but should according to

Syberia I Game on Wine 1.0
Hello @ All, I have a simple Problem - thats what I am thinking :) But I don't know how to solve it. There are two possibilities to start the game. The first ist in the window-mode and the second is in full-screen-mode. When I start the game in the window-mode I can hear the music of the game but see nothing more than a black window. On the terminal it will show the following: Code:

Samba 4.3.11 on FreeBSD-10.3 - Firefox problem on Win7Pro
We have recently converted our users from a Windows2000Advanced Server AD-DC to a Samba-4.3.11. AD-DC. For the most part this went very well, saving only for the degree of ignorance respecting things MicroSoft evidenced by myself. However, one of our users persistently reports difficulties with their roaming profile. Specifically, their Firefox profile. This did not occur before the change-over

SystemShock2+Wine: mon. rez out of range/loss of keyboard
I just discovered that SS2 has been tested in wine and apparently runs pretty well, so I decided to give it a shot. I intalled it from cd using the guidelines given in the AppDB, ie: i used the -ltngforce method of install, I installed the SS2Tool patch, and disabled cutscenes. Each time I run it fullscreen, the main menu is always set to 640x480, and that causes my monitor to bug out, saying

Windows 8 and roaming profiles hosted on Samba - NO ONE does this?
After searching Google for many days/weeks, I've discovered that apparently NO ONE on the planet uses Windows 8 w/ roaming profiles and Samba! Authentication server: Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 File server: FreeBSD 9.1 Samba 3.6.9 My configuration file is here: http://xenomorph.net/linux/samba/configuration/sample/ Windows XP and Windows 7 work fine. Clean profile, imported profiles,
