i couldnt figue out how to get wine to install normally after download, so i had to download the source and do it that way. I followed the directions in the read me that came with it, but all I can ever get to is the "make" direction. After it's done with that, it says to do "wine install" in the read me. When I type that in and try it, it says it is an invalid operation.

Hello I uninstalled wine 1.01 and tried to install wine 1.1.6 with GDebi package installer. but after clicking on install package nothing happens. Wine doesnt appear in applications -> system tools. on side note, i couldn't install 1.1.27, because of libfontconfig error.

Everytime I try to load a file I get this message. The file '/home/secord/Downloads/msgr10us.exe' is not marked as executable. i downloaded the windows exe of flash from adobe and when i try to run it via wine ubuntu gives me an error saying it is not marked as an executable and it will not allow it to run or something... any ideas? -chris

Same problem here. Using Ubuntu 9.04 64bit, Brazilian portuguese. Can type deadkeys everywhere except on wine applications(notepad, office 2007). I'm using scim/scim-bridge(portuguese/japanese) too and works on native linux GTK/QT applications, but doesn't work on wine..... just an extra information.
