Okay, I am new to this site and I want to download Wine for my Macbook Pro, but I don't know where I am going on the site to download the program. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi all, Have trouble encoding / playing back OGG using WinAmp + plugin. I encoded the files from .WAV with Ogg drop RC2. Seems to be ok. When I try and play them back though I get very very weird sound effects (some kind of "wobbling", some bass frequencies that are usually in the background seem to get more emphasised and they seem to have some kind of strange echo / reverb to it

hi guys - its the first time i post to this ml - i had a silly problem i cant resolve i would like to test creating a source with winamp/dsp and then send it to an icecast server - i tried but nothing works fine - winamp cant connect to the server and icecast - from the admin interface - doesnt signal any mounting source what could be? maybe i have to compile icecast with some particular options?

I know that Winamp has its loyal following. I've never used it much. Also, I'm a novice at computer music. I've always just bought CD's and never used computer music. I'm not sure if this is an icecast issue or oddcast issue or both, but the latest Winamp (v5.22) is not now playing AAC+ streams encoded with Oddcast. Winamp v5.21 and earlier versions work fine. The only thing that has changed is the winamp version number. My radio streams are unaltered (to the point of the same process connecting to two versions of Winamp). Hi I've developed a player that utilizes winamp input plugins for decoding audio to PCM. I'm going to include an open source mp3 input plugin, in_mpg123.dll, and I'm wanting an open source in_vorbis.dll as well. One question. Since vorbis is open source, would it break any rules to distribute the in_vorbis.dll included with Winamp? I presume so but thought I would ask.

Hi, What is the best way to play FLAC files in winamp? Using the in_flac.dll plugin provided in the flac-1.1.4-win.zip file and copying it to the Plugins subdirectory of winamp or using the plugin that's provided by winamp itself? Okay I just found out about Vorbis today. I like it! However the Winamp plugin bug struck me the first time I used it. I used the encoder to compress 2 wavs. Each time I play these ogg files I either get a Winamp crash or a beep at the end of playing the file. I checked the archives and saw the old posts for this same bug. Has it been fixed in a newer version? I take it since the Winamp plugin

I am trying to pass an ogg stream through icecast and then from icecast through to winamp. I pass the ogg stream to icecast with the Content-Type = "application/x-ogg" however icecast serves the audio out with Content-Type = "application/ogg" unfortunately winamp seems to only accepts "application/x-ogg" am i missing something, or what's a guy to do? thanks!

I just wanted to know if anyone has noticed a difference between MP3 and OGG encoded files when having the Winamp equalizer switched on? I seem to be missing bass and the sound doesn't fill the room as much with OGG. With the EQ turned off there is no discernable difference between both LAME and Vorbis encoded files (both at an average of 192 kbps). Is this an error with the OGG Winamp plugin?
