similar to: Call of Duty 4 install error '1628: Failed to complete....'

Heya, I'm new to these forums and fairly new to linux and wine. I'm having some trouble with some computer games I'm trying to run under wine. The games are: Call of Duty 5 World at War Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare Alien Versus Predator I managed to install Call of Duty 5 and AvP without errors, however I can't run them. They don't appear in the wine menu or the games menu.

I installed Call of duty 1 by installing it..then when it got to change cd 2..I canceled install and then copied pak files to directory.First problem is that i cant install updates.It says Call of duty is not installed.Im guessing its because it didnt go through whole install and edit the registry.So update cant find it. second is when I cd into directory and run exe. game starts but fresh rate

Hi, I recently installed Call Of Duty 2, but the game is unplayable because of mouse lag. I try options "winetrick nwo=<?>" where ? was "enable", "disabled" or "force" - nothing works. After installing CoD4 in Wine, the install went fine, I tried starting it up and now every time I try to run it I get an error saying that I needed to insert the correct DVD-ROM, even though I do have the correct DVD inserted. Any ideas what's up?
